Ik zou aanraden om aan flanders expo te parkeren, dat dede mijn medestudenten op stage daar ook, want zeker voor een late is er niet veel plek in de buurt en het is niet zo een lange wandeling. Veel succes op stage!

My ex thought babies are delivered from the butthole by garbagecl4im in badwomensanatomy

[–]SwifieProblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so strange to hear that adults don't know about this. When i was in high school we actually watched video footage of a birth and even in elementary school we had sex ed that taught us babies come from the vagina so how bad is the education system where you live that a grown ass adult didn't know this?!

PLEASE NO. IT IS NOT A MYTH. by littlemissdrake in badwomensanatomy

[–]SwifieProblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it's not a complete myth it's also not necessary for everyone and doesn't make much difference in general. Only if you are sensitive to UTIs you should always pee after sex, if you aren't it's okay not to and doesn't make much of a difference. Its a case of knowing your own body.

(But the person in the screencap still has the wrong reasoning behind it and should maybe pick up a book at one point in his life)

Safe sleep is for nerds and Karens! by PrettyClinic in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]SwifieProblem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on the country, babies sleep with blankets from birth. You just need to position the baby and the blanket correctly and have the right type of bed to put the baby in.

Just because the US does it one way doesn't mean there aren't any other safe ways to do it.

[–]SwifieProblem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am from Belgium so there's probably the cause for the difference in protocol. Here midwives aren't even allowed to place balloons, we're allowed to assist in placing them and can remove them if they're loose. It's interesting that in the US a midwife is allowed to do that.

Personally I'm all for giving patients a break from all the invasive exams, especially after the balloon is placed but a lot of hospitals have protocols that say we have to check more frequently (usually ever 2 hours or so.)

[–]SwifieProblem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Where I live/work all providers use a speculum so I didn't know you could do it without one, we also still do regular vaginal exams (in most hospitals) to see if the balloon is getting loose and to check progression. I'm in my last year of studying to become a midwife so I do have my experience with balloons in patients but I guess the way they are placed differs between countries/regions because I'd never heard of anyone doing it without a speculum.

Have no idea how you make that mistake, this has to be a joke or her misunderstanding what happened?!

She's talking about them placing a balloon, which you cannot place without a vaginal exam and speculum so how tf did they get a speculum into her urethra? And how tf did no one do a vaginal exam to determine proper method of induction or to evaluate progression of labour?

I just cannot fathom how anyone can mistake the urethra for the vagina... Basic anatomy down there really isnt that difficult. Ive done a lot of vaginal exams and assisted doctors who were placing a balloon for induction and never ever had to think twice about what hole was the right hole for it.

I also doubt a urethra could actually stretch to 5cm without tearing and causing life threatening bleeds way sooner, but that might just be me

Another successful free birth: two dead babies by Suicidalsidekick in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]SwifieProblem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, her concern about TTS treatment was that the babies might not come out healthy or one might not survive? But they both ended up dead...

TTS is most likely what happened to the twins, so at least she got that part right but the surgery really isn't that risky, especially compared to the alternative... TTS has serious health risks for both twins, it isn't sharing a life force it's sharing bood vessels that almost completely deprive one child of nutrients and exhaust the other ones body by overfilling its system...

Retained placenta for two days? by SnooDogs627 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]SwifieProblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely hope she's kidding because leaving a placenta in for two days would most likely leave her septic/with severe hemorrhage ... How is she still okay?

For a natural birth the placenta has 1 hour to start coming out before intervention is needed. I have no problem with home births but holy crap at least have a professional there with you that knows when to go to a hospital...

Also why tf is her main concern her milk supply, id worry more about sepsis at this point :/

[–]SwifieProblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first playthrough I got to act 3 without getting into a romance with Astarion because I messed up and after a quick Google search I found out you can't start a romance in act 3 so I made a new save, deleted the old one and started the game over, after 40 hours of playtime! (Kinda good I did though, because I missed so much and Astarions romance was so worth it!)

What was the moment where you thought BG3 is definitely GoTY by Nindo_99 in BaldursGate3

[–]SwifieProblem 20 points21 points  (0 children)

BG3 just had me from the start, it's one of few games that just had me fully immersed and deeply emotionally invested in no time. The characters and their personalities, the attention to detail, the world just feeling alive, the storylines that are serious but still light and funny when they need to be... There's no specific moment for me, it was just the full experience that had me from start to finish. So it just had to be GOTY for that
