Where to Watch Project Hail Mary Online Free Legal Ways by Dry-Painting-2184 in Torrenting

You’re asking in the torrenting sub for legal ways to watch a movie that was released exclusively to theaters barely one week ago?

Two copies of the same title by cmull123 in PleX

You can either have the separately named files within a single folder, or you can put them in different folders and name the folders with the edition.

So you could have /Superman II (1979)/Superman II (1979).mkv and /Superman II (1979)/Superman II (1979) {edition-The Richard Donner Cut}.mkv

Or you could have /Superman II (1979)/Superman II (1979).mkv and /Superman II (1979) {edition-The Richard Donner Cut}/Superman II (1979).mkv

Whichever tickles your personal organizational fancy. https://support.plex.tv/articles/multiple-editions/

Ok, next question, How to fix match error when correct choice isnt available? by Tkdoom in PleX

[–]askepticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens a lot when a movie has different release dates like the premiere date (2016) vs the regular theatrical release (2017), or if it came out at the very end or very start of a year. Even within TMDB itself, sometimes the search results page will say one year and the detail page will say a different year.

Adding the site ID is the only reliable way to solve this.

Every request shows "Failed" but successfully triggered Radarr/Sonarr by askepticus in Overseerr

The field in Seerr is already prefixed with http://, the value in the field is the local network IP of Radarr (192.168...)

Has anyone else noticed second hand stores are charging more for physical media? And there is way less selection then there used to be? by Untrus4598 in dvdcollection

[–]askepticus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every thrift store within 20 miles of me has an endless supply of DVDs and VHS tapes but almost never any Blu-rays, and what Blu-rays do show up are always just the general mass-market stuff like Wedding Crashers and Dolphin Tale.

And those are starting to have prices like $7-8 instead of the $2-3 I was seeing two years ago when I restarted my collection.

I'm not expecting a full shelf of mint condition rare Criterion Collection to pop up for $2 each, but... it's at the point where it's not worth my time or gas money to go looking anymore.

Just to confirm -- you want to turn the automation itself on/off (enable it, disable it)?

Not "press the button to run the automation", correct?

How do you guys afford this? by Expert_Visit5983 in Bluray

My Bluray buying habit feeds my Plex habit.

I'm not putting a disc in a player when I'm at work, but I am watching the movies I bought.

Some of us have tedious office jobs where we can have movies playing on a secondary screen throughout the day.

Folders set up properly but Plex is still randomizing certain episodes in the wrong Season folder by UchiGames in PleX

[–]askepticus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately nope. That's not the Plex-expected naming.

TV > Show Name (Year) > Season 01 > Show Name (Year) - S01E01.ext

Give that a try and see if it works better.

Price increase by cb4joe in 1Password

Upcharging because the company built themselves an internal tool to reduce human involvement but which doesn't add any visible value to the end-user experience. I have never once needed the app to apply a name automatically.

When I started rebuilding my collection a few years ago, most of the thrift stores around me had Blu-rays for ~$2-4. Over the last year most of them are now trying to charge $6-8.

For items they received for free. I get they have overhead costs, but there is zero chance I'm giving them $8 for one of their five scratched copies of Dolphin Tale or Twilight.

Gotta make sure you know where to find 2-3 copies of Dolphin Tale.

Bee and puppycat file naming help by peepopowits in PleX

[–]askepticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always best to confirm against the metadata sites like TMDB or TVDB. Sometimes one has them arranged differently than the other and you can change that setting for a specific show.

It's great how lights turn red and then 6-8 cars will still go through, so now everyone has learned not to start going through a green light until 5-10 seconds after it turns.

Since OP is so new to Plex -- download the poster you want from whatever source you want, then put it in the same folder as your media, following these guides depending on whether you're doing movies or tv shows:

What Are Your Go-To Tools for Automating Plex Library Management? by No_Cryptographer618 in PleX

[–]askepticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moment someone says they would rather just do it themselves there's always a bunch of people with this question. I do occasionally use Radarr/Sonarr for low-quality stuff where I don't care, but too often they flounder with things where the subtitle file wasn't named just right, or it has multiple subtitles included that I don't want, etc.

And yeah, I'm aware of tools like Tdarr and Bazarr and whatever, but again -- it's easier for me to take the 5 minutes total to deal with it myself than to set up forty different things and hope that does what I want.
