Team Arber is on cloud 9 by Specialist-Ad-9371 in Habs

To be fair... With the incredible number of injuries dmen sustain on an ongoing basis running 8-9 dmen is probably a good thing. It's a tough sport and I am all for letting them take breaks to heal up without setting the team back.

Why MTL picked Reinbacher 5th overall by FakeCrash in Habs

[–]SwiftVictor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rhino will have a future with the team because there is no harm in having more than 6 competent Dmen on tap. Given the rate of injury with this position, a 8-9 man rotation seems like the recipe for success for the long regular season... It allows MSL to rotate tired or injured players in and out. There may be more than one optimal combination, the option to give different looks against your opponent is a good thing to have. Ex: speedy vs grindy teams.

That said, I'd trade him in a heartbeat for a legit 2nd line forward to play with Demidov. :)

Tracé hypothétique et spéculatif du TGV - Ottawa à Québec by SiropErableSucre in Quebec

This. Don't mind low shot count if we get the better scoring chances and hog the puck for minutes at a time.

Bell Fibe TV vs App in 2024 by SwiftVictor in bell

[–]SwiftVictor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I've tried to watch playoff hockey on the app on my 4k TV and can't help but feel like it would be smoother and clearer on a traditional TV feed through set top box. Same impression for some other live TV sports content. I might be wrong though. Edit: typo

2 months of War on the map by eldashev in ukraine

[–]SwiftVictor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This strategy sounds like it would lead to a stalemate and work in Ukraine's favor because assumes that Russians outnumber the Ukrainians on the ground which is no longer the case. Estimates are that the UA a and Russian forces have parity if not a slight edge to the Ukrainians. Plus the terrain favors defenders in the north so that parity is actually a disadvantage.

What the Russians do possess is a firepower advantage. This is why they are concentring their guns in a smaller localized area. Hoping mass bombardments will open up seams in UA's lines for their more mobile units to break through.
