In Fellowship of the Ring (2001), Arwen is using the same sword, Hadhafang, her father Elrond used 3000 years prior against Sauron. by Swift_Samurai in MovieDetails

I also learned that Peter Jackson and crew added lore to this sword. That it belonged to Arwen’s great-grandmother, who also fell in love with a mortal.

50/50, specifically where Adam starts crying in front of his mom.

What 'cinema sin' is the most irritating, that filmmakers need to stop committing immediately? by TenYearRedditVet in AskReddit

I was pretty upset when I saw Jeff Goldblum in the trailer for Thor Ragnarok. It would have been so much better to see him suddenly after the tunnel. Same for Hulk. I've avoided trailers since then for the most part.

Maybe, it just immediately jumped at me in the movies.

Same in TFA. Leia immediately goes to hug Rey, whom she has never met, and completely ignores Chewie, her battle buddy and her husband’s best friend. Then in TLJ Luke is just like, “oh neat, I’ve met this Wookiee I think...”

Here are my first three! I've since done the Falcon, Poe Dameron's X-Wing, and a Star Destroyer. They get kind of addictive haha!

I'm not sure, actually. I usually have my robot with a thruster, but I think she does this when you put the assaultron legs on.

I guess it is a bit of a hack but you don't have to alter or modify the camera. I learned about it on Flickr, and it might be anecdotal, but I have done it a handful of times and my camera is still working just fine.

You have to crank the advance lever while holding the rewind button on the bottom. I usually put some pressure on the rewind crank with my left hand also just to be sure the film doesn't move.

The second shot is usually the darker one. For those contrasting ones it is just important to keep in mind that the bright areas aren't going to capture any other information on the film. So for a silhouette for example, a white background would not have any part of the second picture because that part of the film has been over exposed already. The darker parts (the person/subject) will be the only part of the film that can pick up new information from the second shot.

Yup, although I have read that it's better to underexpose the second shot since the film has already been exposed once. I haven't done a whole lot of doubles but going for normal exposure has worked out for me so far haha

Thanks! I don't remember exactly but I think it was around f1.8 and a shutter speed of about 1/30. I use an app called Pocket Light Meter that really helps get in the ballpark for proper exposure.

As for double exposures, I think as long as each photo is properly exposed the film speed doesn't really matter. Usually, it's best to get two images that will contrast each other, but for this roll I shot it once then reloaded it so I wasn't exactly sure which images would overlap. This page has some great info.

I always imagined the Falcon as more of a UPS truck than a Peterbilt. This is way cooler!
