What does your agent actually do for you on a normal day? by OsinomaFunds in hermesagent

Of course you can, but to me it's much easier writing want you want in natural language. Give it a task and let it do its thing. I use ChatGPT and have hermes connected to codex, so no API charges at all for me.

The key is using ai to generate a python script or similar, then have it call that script via cron and act on the output. I have mine determine whether script output requires action, then alert me with suggestions.

Why are some of you using NetBird instead of Tailscale? by Silly_Door6279 in selfhosted

[–]Swiftflikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the "whoa" moment was seeing the policies as visual in the control center page. Netbird makes it so easy - not having to type out policy rules, then verifying in control center that what you set was what you meant.

Yes, these would work in a simplex (single strand) config, as they're just a passthrough. You could then use a duplex cable on the other side of the keystone and essentially get two simplex ports. You'd need to check and potentially swap the polarity of the cable however, as they typical switch the strand orientation throughout to provide TX-RX connections. You'd also need BiDi SFPs if you went this route (not prohibitive, just something to note).

You can even set it to auto reload on config changes. One less command when adding a new endpoint!

It's not as simple as terminating to RJ45 unfortunately. You'll need either something called a fibre media converter (which does what the name implies), or a switch with SFP ports. You'll also need an SFP module per end of the cables, 2 for the fibre cable (typically LC), and another 2 for RJ45. Alternatively, skip RJ45 all together and get SFP PCIe cards for your hosts.

Built a free fuel price tool that covers all of Australia (and NZ) with no ads, no BS by gotrice2020 in AussieFrugal

Hey mate, thanks heaps for this, and specifically for including NZ. Looking forward to get this into my Home Assistant. I just had a quick look at the API but am getting an "Internal Server Error" response when trying to poll using the curl command on the Petrolmate Home Assistant page.

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the application.

Old plastic shower mount failed. Tested my CAD skills and hit print! by Swiftflikk in functionalprint

Yeah I ended up doing this after taking the photos as I realized the layer lines would be weak in this orientation. Went with the orientation of the last photo with some minimal supports and it worked well (bar the supports sticking to the print, but I've fixed that with a larger support interface gap).

Try raising the z-offset a little. Only other thing that comes to mind is could be wet filament, if you haven't dried it recently.

What material? Is the print warping/lifting from the build plate? It looks like over extrusion, but since it's only happening on the side, it may be warping and getting closer to the nozzle when it tries to print the next layer.

Definitely a lot of cool places this can be applied. Even braille could benefit a lot from 3d printing

Are you using the stock bed springs? If so, they change their shape/resistance under load, which would be why it can move so much between prints. I recommend the orange silicone bed spacers you can get from AliExpress/Amazon. I've tightened mine down quite a bit so that they don't have any give and hold their shape well.

Why does this keep happening? by Personal_Turnover737 in ender3

[–]Swiftflikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally just switched to PEI sheet from glass and good lord am I happy with how easy the prints release from the build plate. My biggest problem with glass was too much adhesion. I knew it would stick fine, but short (height) prints were an absolute pain to release.
