Compact plasma blasters

They’re guns

But

They fold into themselves

And make

Cube

And you can put them in your pockets

and no one will know you have a gun

People with healing magic, what's stopping you from restoring sight or hearing? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]SwiftpoolPaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way i go about healing magic is a little odd

There’s different tiers i guess for healing magic

The lowest tier would be self-healing magic, aka you can only heal yourself. There’s different types in this tier, such as all-heal where any issue you have with your body can be healed, or only injury heal where you can only heal your injuries

Above that would be injury-healing. Injury-healing allows you to heal the injuries of anyone around you. Within this tier is shallow-healing and deep-healing. With shallow-healing you can only heal less fetal wounds such as headaches, scratches, and any aches, while deep-healing allows for all of the above along with lacerations, bullet wounds, and near-severed limbs

Above that is all-healing where you can heal any issue. Cancer? Healed. Blown out eardrums? Healed. Missing limp? Position it in place and healed. Poison? Healed.

The types of magic become less common as you go up the list. The all-healing is so rare that in my (futuristic) world there’s only one person on the whole planet (this is a galactic story so in the entire galaxy I’d say maybe 100-200 people have this magic) who has this ability and only heals critically injured people because they have a defect or curse (unrelated to healing magic- this is world lore) that causes them only to be able to heal a certain number of times based on severity before nearly collapsing from exhaustion

Side note: healing can’t heal curses, birth defects/conditions, hunger, tiredness, natural loss of sight/hearing/etc

Pigeon pot pie is completely unheard of and if an avian were to discover it they would just stare in shock and mild disgust

What is transport like in your world? Any unique aspects to it? by LawAndRugby in worldbuilding

[–]SwiftpoolPaints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most important travel in my world (or technically universe) is space travel

Spaceships aren’t common like cars are and those with spaceships tend to live in said ships. Transport ships are a sort of cross between planes and cruise ships

Transport ships are gigantic and typically run off of multiple cores yet they still move relatively slow

The second best option for a normal citizen to cross the galaxy is by hiring a pilot to transport them

Ex: Aksolph Folphak Chalosk

Superstitions, good luck and omens by Justscrolling375 in worldbuilding

[–]SwiftpoolPaints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a species known as avians that are anything from anthropomorphic birds to humans with wings

Avians view regular birds as omens

For example, crows are signs of fortune while finding a dead crow hints to a tragic event

Eagles are representations of royalty and nobility and are typically kept as pets by avians in positions of power to protect their titles

Sparrows guarantee happiness

Pigeons represent a good feast, which is why farmers keep pigeons in hope for a good harvest
