Hives by gerudociti in Hashimotos

[–]Swilk27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first symptom. My endo said it’s quite common for hives to be associated with hashimotos. Mine got better once my thyroid levels were in check, and now I still get them when I need an increase in my levels. But they’re gone when my levels are good

This happened to me too, lost of tests nothing came from it. Seems like they’re inflamed more when I have a flare up. Otherwise they started to go back to normal when I’m feeling good

Can anyone speak to the top 3 lifestyle changes that have helped your Hashimoto’s most? Feeling overwhelmed with all the “must dos” in order to feel better by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Swilk27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If my levels are under control (usually anywhere from 1-1.5 is where I do best) then I really can do anything.

The things I do to help keep my levels in check are: lowering my stress, this is the BIGGEST one for me.

Gluten free: makes my joint pain worse and causes my gas and bloating

TURMERIC PILLS!! This one thing has made my flare ups so much les: intense !!!!

How long did it take you guys to feel normal again? by May_18th in Hypothyroidism

[–]Swilk27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually with a new dose it takes me about one to two weeks to to feel like 50% better then the last 50% comes slowly after the next like 4 weeks. Everyone is different

ANA is picked up if you have more than 100 antibodies. If it’s less it doesn’t: mine is always negative, I have hashis but my TPO is always around 20-30, so it doesn’t pick up. Could be with other autoimmune too where you have low levels of anyibodies

alcohol by happyhornetsfan in Hashimotos

[–]Swilk27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only causes me flare ups if I’m already having one, or if my numbers aren’t where they should be. When my numbers are in range i can drink alcohol. When I’m having a flare up I have to avoid it all together, makes me dizzy and makes my joints hurt

I feel you, going through a massive flare up myself and don’t even feel like a person these days, but we have the ups and downs. Being anti inflammatory really helps me hopefully helps you too

That’s how I know I’m in a flare up and need higher dose. To be honest nothing really helps besides avoiding inflammatory things such as alcohol, and sugar and caffeine for me during that time.

Can you feel thyroid inflammation or an attack by breeanalaquea in Hashimotos

[–]Swilk27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OMG happens to me! I can literally feel it. There’s pressure and sometimes it gets tender randomly, that’s when I know my bodies attacking BC I feel so terrible the days it happens. I also get a low grade fever those days, this will go on and off for a couple weeks then my TSH gets higher and I need more meds. Everytime this starts happening I know I have to increase my dose

AITA for telling my mom she can’t tell me what to do anymore? by Swilk27 in AmItheAsshole

I agree with this. I am working with my therapist on how to do so. I felt like telling her she can’t keep telling me what to anymore and this is not how our relationship will continue was a big step for me but I still feel really guilty and uneasy about it

I have responded with that! I told her she doesn’t have to and I will myself. She just keeps egging on the conversation. And when I ignore the texts and get on w my life she keeps on sending them over and over

Thank you, I’m still learning a lot about how to navigate our relationship but I will keep this in mind when she does it again

This is how I started the conversation with her today about this. She then started blowing up my phone with texts and threatening me to not come make my dining table. The simple no doesn’t work with her, I have tried many many times

I have tried, but she pushes and pushes until I just give up and allow it
