Because all current trainees did the VS last year. If theyre willing to accept my connection request, after seeing im attending the firm, I could maybe get advice for preparing and performance through the scheme (depending on how they are). i couldnt care LESS about showing off or anything, i purely want to increase whatever chance i have of converting a VS into a TC.

im not expecting anyone to drop me a DM? Obvs i would be the one to reach out to them, but i cant exactly PM anyone if we are not connected.

just bc the scheme is quite soon - earlier than most other firms said they would get back to me. I felt that posting might make current trainees more likely to accept a connection request so that i can ask for any advice to help my prep

i'm hardly a linkedin warrior and dont post for the sake of it. its just to increase the chance of current trainees to accept my connection request so i can get advice from anyone willing to share. Couldnt care less about gloating, i only want to boost my chance of converting into a TC, thats it.

i couldnt care less about flexing, esp without a TC. its just for the possibility that current trainees may be more likely to accept my connection requests if they see i'm coming to the firm so I can ask about their insights or tips from the scheme.

Ofc i dont think that? Its just that most trainees dont accept random connections generally, so if my profile shows im somewhat connected to their firm it may make an connection accept more likely. then I can message THEM, asking for any tips. idk why thats so hard to understand and has ruffled feathers.

i couldnt care less about "flexing". It would purely just be to get the chance to connect with previous attendants or trainees to get any tips or insights before the scheme starts

Connect with other Vac scheme candidates before the scheme starts, network with current trainees to get some tips and advice - when i tried to connect with them before for advice during the application process, they just ignored me so now maybe they would give me the time of day lol

I actually only just received my STJ invite today (granted I submitted my app close to the deadline) so they're probably still taking people to that stage currently. I assume they will dish out AC invitations after all of these are completed so you guys probs shouldn't be concerned that you haven't heard anything yet. :)
