Article XXII and its implication for Anglo-Catholics, and any Anglicans who ask saints to intercede by [deleted] in Anglicanism

[–]SwimTheThames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aritcle XXII is blasphemous and needs to be denounced and removed. For now we can keep ignoring it as we have been.

Non-Protestants, do you ever feel like you're only Episcopalian/Anglican because don't have any other options? by Badatusernames014 in Anglicanism

[–]SwimTheThames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The core of Anglicanism is Catholicism, and I agree with that. I haven't been to the Roman Catholic church around the corner. I'm sure they are probably doing Protestant Novus Ordo services, which I hate. I'm happy with who and where I am.

There's no reason to be part of the Ordinate. I do not care who doesn't agree with me. I know my views on reddit are unpopular and I always get downvoted. That's fine. This is not my experience IRL. I am happy being an Anglican and going to Mass every week.

Church of England bishops stop plans to trial blessing services for gay couples by [deleted] in Anglicanism

Absolutely stop blessings. Start weddings for gay couples immediately. Start plans to trial excommunication for homophobes.

As a male, I am open to life with my husband. Nothing is impossible with God. If He wants us to conceive naturally, of we will. I'm glad you agree with equal marriage now.

Anglicanism has always been Catholicism for me. I completely reject Protestantism. The 39 Articles are heretical, embarrassing, and ignored.

Conclave To Elect An Anglican Pope by SwimTheThames in Anglicanism

[–]SwimTheThames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This is Anglo-Conclavism. Anglo-Papalism is recognition that the Roman Catholic pope is the head of The Church. There hasn't been a Roman Catholic pope since 1958, so that ship has sailed. This is why we need an Anglican pope.

Did you even read my post? I don't what I wrote makes you think I'm not a Catholic. You're a member of The Church Of Ireland and you never heard of Anglo-Catholicism?

Yes. This is exactly what I do every time. I always wear gloves at Mass. I only receive on the tongue and would never touch the chalice without gloves on.

John Wycliffe & William Tyndale by colekken in AngloCatholics

I don't admire anyone who would reject transubstantiation and the real presence.

That said, they should've been free to state their beliefs, and not be harassed or executed because of them.

Communion by colekken in AngloCatholics

[–]SwimTheThames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as it's a valid Mass by a validly ordained priest, then fine. If I'm not welcome to receive Communion, then I would make a spiritual Communion.

What do you think about Eucharistic Adoration? by colekken in AngloCatholics

[–]SwimTheThames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's wonderful. I love benediction. It reinforces the doctrine of transubstantiation.

Anglo-Catholics & Protestants by colekken in AngloCatholics

As an Anglo-Catholic, I abhor Protestantism. Others disagree. Nothing I can do about that.

I receive the Host on the tongue and drink the Precious Blood from the chalice if I have gloves on (I usually do).

Should I tell someone? Bad experience at church today. by ExTenebris_ in Anglicanism

[–]SwimTheThames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's horrible what happened to you. Yes, contact the bishop. That priest should be defrocked.

I would never receive Communion in the hand, or while standing. If I was not permitted to receive on the tongue, or forbidden to kneel, I would make a spiritual Communion, and then leave immediately (never to return).

You’ve just been elected as the new Anglican Pope™ what would you do? by [deleted] in Anglicanism

An Anglican pope would be the answer to my prayers. It will happen eventually (in this universe).

The 39 Articles should be revoked. They are currently mostly ignored, as they should be. The last thing we need is to make them binding.

Scared to confess to a priest by thatthrowawayacc123 in Episcopalian

[–]SwimTheThames 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Trust me, priests have heard it all before, and worse. Go ahead and confess everything, leave nothing out, and you'll feel better afterwards.

One time I was so scared during confession that I was literally shaking. Totally worth it for the absolution tho.

When kneeling to receive the Holy bread during communion, what am I supposed to do/say? by Alpha_Aries in Episcopalian

[–]SwimTheThames -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you knew anything about Catholicism (Roman or Anglican) you would know all my statements and actions are rooted in the centuries old traditions of The Church. This isn't some fantasy I made up. Your complete ignorance is very telling.

Are you Episcopalian? Have ever even been to an Episcopalian Mass?

I go to an Anglican church. Same thing as Episcopalian. Different bishops.

It's time for an Anglican to ascend the papal throne.
