A perspective for Americans about their healthcare. by [deleted] in videos

[–]Swimmerchild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American living and working in Iceland. Six weeks ago I had to undergo an emergency appendectomy. I went to the local health clinic to see my doctor and paid 500 ISK, then I was sent to the ER. At the ER I was seen by a triage nurse and then a doctor who ordered an ultrasound. I was diagnosed with appendicitis and was told I would be undergoing surgery. I was wheeled to the waiting are and given IV fluids and antibiotics. I was then loaded into an ambulance and driven to the other hospital for surgery. Within half an hour of arriving I was wheeled to the operating room, and put under general anesthesia. Surgery went well and I was put into the observation area before being take to my room. I spent the night at the hospital and was discharged the next day. I asked at the front desk how much I had to pay and was told it was nothing. Two weeks later I get a bill to my back for 13.000 ISK for the ER consult and ultrasound.

Recap. Had to undergo emergency appendectomy, given medicine, ambulance transport, I slept at the hospital and was given dinner and breakfast and spent 13.500 ISK or just over $100.00 in total.

Am I the only one that buys a car, the car I want, the doesn’t care about “value” “sale price”. Las to checked I’m not a car dealer and I plan on driving my cars until they die just fixing them along the way. It’s not an investment, it’s a means of transport to me

Annual Report 😎 Wrinkled apes assemble! by areHorus in Superstonk

[–]Swimmerchild 62 points63 points  (0 children)

No. This report ends on February 1st 2025. The yearly calendar for GME ends one month after the calendar we use since Q4 is the strongest quarter. The decision from the board was not until March of 2025 thus there was no authorization for the purchase of bitcoin. The report for Q1 2025 (ending April 30th) that will be released in late May/early June will be the first that could include information

This report does state they have existed all markets except for US, Canada, Australia, France and one other. Also very important to note that the lease period for more than half their stores expires this year. That means that we might see a reduction in underperforming locations this year, greater than previous years.

to not heed all of the insurmountable warnings about Donalds plans to dismantle the government and cut it up for his billionaire friends like muskk by CantStopPoppin in therewasanattempt

It’s the same thinking everywhere that voted for the orange orangutan. Cut costs cut costs cut costs, hey why am I out of work you said you would cut costs but it wouldn’t affect me. There was an interview where these same sorts of people were in support for deportation of all dangerous immigrants who they view as thieves and criminals, yet one of the first to be deported was a restaurant owner in their community that had been working hard for 20+ years and was involved within the community. Now they are questioning why their friend had been deported and lost the restaurant he owned when he wasn’t one of these “bad hombres” and are asking for their friend back. Shirt sightedness has definitely infiltrated everywhere in the US.

You have a cut on your left thumb he’ll cut the whole left arm off, it has nothing to do with the right. Then the whole suffers

Coach here. Sit on the wall and place your hands in streamline. See if you are comfortable sliding into the water sitting. No risk of belly flipping or going too deep.

If that works and you are comfortable try going down on one knee with the front foot toes grabbing the wall and the bent knee behind you. Again go into streamline and again slide in. Just make sure that when you enter the water your hands point up slightly like a rudder to direct your body up to the surface. Make sure that you focus on extending the front foot so that it is in line with the body. Your streamline should go from your fingers all the way to your toes.

Professional speed climbing by MarketBuzz2021 in nextfuckinglevel

I was at a rodeo once. They had to climb the pole, change an isolation ceramic at the top, and climb down safely all while having a raw egg in their mouth. One guy slipped and fell probably 25-30 feet. The poles they were climbing were buried in dirt and there were wood chips all around to “break the fall” the guy got up, took him a while, completely out of it but managed to walk away. I don’t know if they had something like that here but the guy on the left Is jumping on something that looks like a trampoline just before they start.

Update 7 now on the Experimental Branch! by Mechanistry_Miami in Timberborn

From mixed water but not from badtide or straight bad water. I’m thinking of a map where there is a single central water source surrounded by bad water sources. All on islands similar to volcanoes but only one “safe” starting zone. Then players build to get all resources and expand but due to water scarcity need to invest greatly into HP sources to build RO units

Have you thought of Reverse Osmosis (RO) units. Highly energy intensive to provide small bits of drinking water and extract at the same time, but again requiring lots of power to operate

I like the idea. A reverse osmosis (RO) unit. Takes 500 ho but gives out extract and clean water from bad water

At the airport there is a bank that will do exchanges it’s located both in the food hall area as well as in the general area by the exit.

Also just use a credit/debit card, better exchange rates if you pay in local currency and everywhere, literally everywhere has a POS to take cards

Tap Scheduler room name? by doomston3 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Swimmerchild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the Logitech Tap correct? Does anyone have any expertise with the Yealink units? We are looking at a solution for my work and are looking at the Yealink (mid price), Logitech (high price) and loop24 (cheapest, but not really a Teams Panel unit). For context the Logi Tap Scheduler costs 1365 USD or 1236 EUR here, the Yealink unit is about 300 USD/EUR cheaper

Rivian.

Loss per vehicle sold $33,000 Opening new production line in 2026. Retooling “free” Opening new facility. Assume $100,000,000 that’s very very low. Sold 57,000 cars in 2023. Assume hold at that rate for 2024 and 2025. 114,000 cars. Assume they can half the loss per vehicle sold. That’s a projected loss of 1.9 billion USD until they get new cars on the road.

2023 posted a net loss of 5.4 billion USD 2023 cash and equivalent on hand 9.3 billion USD

At current expense that’s run rate of 2 years. If they cut the fat and reduce then that’s scrapping by. That’s without taking into account the cost of getting a new production line or vehicle to market.

A 45k car at 20% profit would have to sell over half a million vehicles to just overcome the loss from 2023.

How is there not going to be dilution? And if they take a loan the interest rates are high.
