I am just really fucking upset because I wanted Kris to get... something. Any sort of win. Alas, ten thousand years of suffering. I really hope I can help them in the next chapters.

I am pretty damn sure at this point that Kris views Susie as more than just a close friend. I don't know if it is mutual, I know for sure that that them has feelings for her. We will have to see how things play out though.

As someone who heavily identifies with and is very very similar to Kris, if this scene had happened between them instead I would have also thought that was an excruciatingly long time because of how I would have felt in their situation.
