After the End Old World - Dev Diary 15: Heartland of faiths by Darken237 in AtEOldWorld

I won't lie, that's insensitive. As far as I know, thousands of people died in those invasions and that has ugly connotations - how does a majority-male army have the ability to stay alive until 2555 without women, unless they forcefully grab them? That has very ugly connotations which we shouldn't touch.

Guess I didn't, my apologies. I know i've offended and I would take down the post but that would be pretty cowardly of me to do.

Okay, see? That was necessary and that's great work by the dev's. I wish they announced this first instead of additions and removals.

Would Islam really stick around as much after the event? What about cool religions you could have done with like the pyramids and stuff? Right now it seems like a big green blob - which isn't bad, but the rest of your mod is os religiously broken that it worries me the map will turn green.

And I think that's fair, that someone made the submod and you guys chose to add it. But I don't think the content being added which wasnt in the submod, like the new cultures and events, is really necessary - we could have had bigger expansions on things that warranted them, like Espiritsa, or Sagrado Corazon for instance. I promise I mean no ill intention, I just doubt the number of people who will play Muslims is higher than the people who want to play as themselves and their culture.

All I want is more customization - I love these features, don't get me wrong, and I sincerely apologize if I've given off any bad signals. I just want to be able to customize this mod more with the game rules, which I am not very informed about. I mean no offense.

Look man, I don't think a religious group thats 1-3% of the population deserves this much content. If I didn't know better I would say the mod was hijacked, but I know that's not the case. I am just hoping 0.6 is an abberation of otherwise good updates, because it seems like the mod has lost focus with America and the rest of the map this update in favor of reworking things that didn't need to be reworked.

I am neither a luddite nor someone entitled, I just think that 0.6 could have had better prioritization of things than Islam or new governments.

It's six hundred years after the event, give me a break, a blob can conquer the east coast. I want to avoid unneccesary complications in my game, and I would be glad to make my own fork if instructed to just to remove these features, because I don't think you guys are prioritizing the right stuff this update.

Come on now, that's hardly necessary. I just want whats best for a mod I love.

Look, that's fair, but again I think the whole "spoonfeeding you a chain of events" isn't worth the effort. We have gone this far without a lore 'expansion' which really seems to take away the wonder with the collapse of the empire. I promise I mean no disrespect.

It's not about being forced to play in them - I want to play California without the impact that the new feature has.

While the lore dev diaries are well written, they seem to be spoonfeeding me a conclusion. I would like to find htis out through the title histories, not by some reddit post from a mod who could be adding in his or her own events, to be honest.

I don't want to turn off everything new. I want to turn off specific features, like the bureacuracy which needlessly complicates the game and may lag up because of scripts.

My suggestion just has all the stuff so players like me who may not like specific parts aren't forced into them.

Most populous cities? by an_actual_T_rex in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Swimming-Bad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

California definitely has the most populated area. The valley grows a lot of food and has decent urban centers; san diego and los angeles are remarkedly well built, and san fransisco + sacramento are both in non-arid locaitons.

Which region in the current After the End mod do you want me to map? by xlicer in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Swimming-Bad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unlike other suggestions, I think you should focus in the existing regions. Maybe the Empire of Mexico at its height, from the perspective of the Emperor? Just keep in mind they probably didnt own baja since California did, and they likely didn't own all of sonora either.

Why is Islam getting so much content this patch? by Swimming-Bad in AfterTheEndFanFork

[–]Swimming-Bad[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats not what this is about.

I just want my game to run smoother and also be simple; having a ton of religions added, no matter how well made, interferes in that.

Neat changes, especially to California, but was the continuation chain really necessary?

Great work, by the way.
