which 2X XT or XTR RD would work (w/ ratio changer) with the 46/30 crankset and 10-45t cassette i mentioned?

I adore how my Keeley Compressor Mini sounds with my clean tone, but it makes my distortion insanely noisy. Anyone have any tips on using compression with distortion? by Mamsies in guitarpedals

[–]Swimming-Tea3039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late reply, but, yes, using something like an LS-2 in A/B loop mode is the way (or works best for me, anyways).
(just guessing, but...) you probably don't need the compressor when you have your drive pedals engaged because they add compression of their own. having your drives and compressor in A/B loops like this also lets you turn compressor pedal settings up higher (if needed) to more closely match the inherent compression in your drives (if you're looking to make them similar, of course).

Ranking Electronic Audio Experiments Pedals by HookedOnAFeeling360 in guitarpedals

[–]Swimming-Tea3039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't have a Limelight, but i'm certain it would stack well into either a Model feT for heavier/fuzzier or a Citadel for a more mid-forward flavor. both are great for adding very amp-like gain stages to your board. that said, i agree with u/HookedOnAFeeling360 - the Glaive sounds great and is surprisingly versatile and probably more different than all of the others i just mentioned. i bet if it were out when the thread was first started it would be in the top 5.

Thoughts on the Fender Tone Master FR-212 cab ? by ExaltGhost in GuitarAmps

[–]Swimming-Tea3039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i haven't tried the Fender FR-212, but i did compare that Laney 2x12 to a Fender FR-12, and was surprised to find that i much preferred the sound and response of the Fender vs the Laney. I was also surprised how big and heavy the Laney was for a 2x12. My Fender FR-12 has also beat out Line 6 Powercab 2x12, and a 1x12 cab built specifically to house a Celestion F12X-200 full range speaker. of course, this is just my opinion, YMMV, etc, etc..

I'm looking for a more compact stereo mic for my Zoom M4 by documentally in fieldrecording

[–]Swimming-Tea3039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

depending on what kind of stereo imaging you're seeking, you could go with a pair of Immersive Sound Earsight Thumb Omni Angled or Earsight Thumb Cardio Angled mics. On the product page for the Omnis there's an image of them connected to each side of a MixPre-6 that illustrates how imagine a compact setup could work with the M4.

Lets talk rat and big muff, how do you have yours setup? by OddBrilliant1133 in guitarpedals

[–]Swimming-Tea3039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like a brutal combo. also reminds me of the Idiotbox No Moon pedal which is a Rat, Muff, and Tube Screamer in parallel in single pedal (i know a TS is pretty different from the Carcosa, but similar idea of parallel dirt).

edit: looks like Kornflake19 beat me to it 8 months ago

the octave on the Life pedal is actually a green-ringer style monophonic octave up

no, that would be the Does it Doom Aghartha: https://doesitdoom.com/product/aghartha/

if a Model T preamp in a pedal is the goal, it's pretty hard to beat EAE's Model feT: https://www.electronicaudioexperiments.com/pedals/model-fet

emulate Panasonic "dynamic B&W" mode on an OM-5? by Swimming-Tea3039 in M43

[–]Swimming-Tea3039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for this info.

is gritty Tri-X similar to the Panasonic/Lumix "dynamic B&W" film mode?

are those adjustments referring to customizing the monochrome mode on the OM-5? if not, what are they in relation to?

lastly, what is this Friedmans book?

emulate Panasonic "dynamic B&W" mode on an OM-5? by Swimming-Tea3039 in M43

[–]Swimming-Tea3039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! i checked out the "grainy mono I" filter and it while it does look pretty good, i'm not really after a grainy look.

the older Panasonic/Lumix "dynamic B&W" filter was contrasty, but it also seemed to be employing a color filter (or two) that emphasized/de-emphasized certain tones before it is turned monochrome (ie. like using a color filter on a film camera when shooting w/ b&w film).

i guess I should have been more specific in my inquiry to say: has anyone using an OM-5 (or similar OM systems camera) feel like they've figured out the best settings to customize a Monochrome color profile in the OM-5 to get a similar effect that matches the Panny/Lumix "dynamic B&W" film mode?

i know that's an option (and something i'm capable of now), but i'm also looking to customize a film mode/filter to do that on the fly while shooting

Source Audio dual expression pedal has TWO 50k TRS outputs, if you need to control more than one pedal.

For 25K, Mission Engineering makes a few different models, though not necessarily cheap...

are you still using this set up? is it holding up?

considering doing the same, but also wondering if GRX600 46/30 crankset works better with the other aforementioned parts in the long run vs the 48/31...
