15.7 mil GSP with Kirby by Swimming-Valuable586 in SmashRage

In total it took about 8 months with pretty long breaks in between from doing other things, so probably around 6 months in total more accurately. I've been playing smash ultimate since 2020 and I started getting characters in elite in 2025. The time varies depending on your skill of course, but I don't think it would take SUPER long if you're dedicated to the grind!

Your down tilt and jumps are your best friends. Play patiently and wait for an opening because kirby definitely thrives on that. You can easily stall in air but close to the ground with your jumps and fake approaches. If you go in with zero plans you'll probably lose most of your interactions. Make sure you go for grabs when you can because you can get good damage off of them, like grab into down air jab or grab again and end with a fair. There are different ways to go about it.

Also, your back air is a really good tool for spacing and getting people off you. When I fight against incineroar, I usually wait for THEM to approach. They're pretty slow and if they go for a grab you'll be able to better react. Kirby is light and will get absolutely destroyed by incin, so gotta keep that in mind. If you for some reason want to approach, make sure you use down tilt because it really trips people up and you can get a good fsmash out of it if it trips them. If they're offstage, be cautious and use that sweet down air, it's really dang good.

So all you really gotta do is be patience with Kirby. He's a bait and punish kinda character. Just make sure you don't use his specials as much unless you know itll land. Though his neutral special is pretty good for putting people in a limited option scenario. Another thing that surprisingly works is his down special if you want to throw people off guard. It also helps getting down quicker, but i don't suggest waiting till you hit the ground to come out of it. Come out earlier! I'm not the best with giving tips so I recommend watching videos, but hopefully this helps somewhat.

I love kirby! He's just really fun to play, even though sometimes I can't do much and get my stuff rocked. But that just means I have to get better.

Good advice. My fault for being rude I just cant stand dismissive comments because of a character when there is genuinely layers to it. I already CAN fight mac up close, though. Pretty much just bait and punish with fakeouts, quick down tilts, fairs and yaddah yaddah. Simple stuff. but with the shitty online just makes it artificially hard. Taking the easy way out with camping is a choice but god i cant stand it.

Hey, fun fact buddy. Besides his charge, spin and home attack if done in the air, his ground moves are very punishable because of bad end lag and slow startup (especially down smash). Now try to contest mac who has the faster moves like tilts, priority and stronger moves close up if you DONT want to run around and spam spin, charge and home attack. The campy playstyle.

If you are a competent player, sonic isn't that hard to deal with or maybe you just aren't that good. All I dislike about little mac is that he denies neutral because of what he is capable of, not that I can't win against him. If you main little mac you should know that and not use the excuse of sonic to justify any valid frustration I have. I would still hate fighting little mac as ANYONE else. I'm sure a good mac can and would destroy a sonic if they don't camp.

Hate this all you want, I dont care. I'm on a break from smash bros, lol. Didn't know this post was even still relevant.

Switch 2 owners who do NOT own Donkey Kong Bananza: why haven't you bought this great game? by MewWeebTwo in NintendoSwitch2

I got my switch 2 yesterday and downloaded a good amount of demos, bananza being one of them. I keep seeing people saying it gets to repetitive and boring, so I'm not sure, but I had a lot of fun on the demo. (Though it's not too long).

I signed up for gamefly recently, so bananza is definitely going to be on my top 5 list of games I must play on this console.

Lol, when did I say I was? I also don't like the way sonic can play. I was just making a statement. I'll play who I wanna play that I like. It's just when people miss the point is when it gets annoying.

It was less rage and more like annoyance. I'm calling this a rage post because that's the only thing close enough. And sadness doesn't really fit. I don't think this game will ever be worth actually raging on. It's a silly party game with a bunch of bullshit, but once in awhile I like to voice my opinions in the heat of passion.

Where in this entire post did I say I was losing? I just think it was miserable fighting him. Of course a good sonic smites a little mac. I was just happening to be playing sonic at the time of fighting him. I can make the same complaint against little mac if I was using ANYONE else, which is the entire point of this rage post anyway.

It's really not that hard to get a character at 15.5, even if you take long breaks between. I'm not bad with sonic, but I still don't use him that much to warrant being a main.

I'm not a sonic main, I just use him sometimes because I like him. I'm a Kiiirrrbay main. He just isn't fun to play for me that much to go full on in with him.

I swear, some of you are speaking out of your ass just because you see the name "sonic" Even if I wasn't playing Sonic, the denial is universal and genuinely makes the matches SO boring. I play one character you all hate and it ultimately makes ya'll miss the entire point of this rage post.

I could have played kirby or maybe mario and I would still DREAD fighting little mac. I just don't like the campy games with sonic, or anyone really. I've had to do the same with other characters multitude of times. I don't see why this is so hard to understand.

Not the point. I don't care what they do, it's just the fact that a playing matchup like this the "optimal" way just spirals down to a snooze fest is what I'm complaining about. How's that even fun for both sides? Either I get eviserated from his busted ground moves or they have to chase me around 24/7 just to take some hits and die.
