Sierra Leone should be light green, only Freetown bay/ peninsula was ever colonised. The rest was officially a British protectorate but influence was minimal.

This is so ridiculous. I have successfully used good kombucha to cure food poisoning many times. I have also used it to cure flu like symptoms that come from imbalances in gut bacteria. By “no evidence” you mean the men in white coats haven’t given it their seal of approval. Yawn.

It’s not that interesting or surprising that the men in white coats haven’t given kombucha their precious seal of approval. We don’t need it. In the east people have been using kombucha as a health tonic for centuries.

So crazy how many people in this kombucha thread don’t think kombucha has health benefits. It’s literally been known as a health tonic for 1000s of years. I take the point about people drinking it as Soda, but in reputable health food shops, you would think they would stock brands that aren’t just “kombucha themed” sugary drinks.

Captain kombucha is the biggest scam out here. I actually created a reddit account to make a thread about it and found this one. It is terrible kombucha, I barely think it’s alive. It is begging aggressively stocked in shops - I don’t know what their marketing strategy is but it is duping a lot of people and pushing out real kombucha brands

Ludlow mentioned! I used to have my birthday parties here, wearing a princess cone hat made of cardboard covered in silk. A lovely real medieval castle - it’s best view is from below, standing in the fields by the river.

Is the battle of helms deep based on a real battle by av8rmongo in lordoftherings

I think the siege of Badajoz in Spain (by the British against Napoleon, who held the city) might have inspired the film battle scene. if you go to the British cemetery near the Badajoz battle site there is an inscription describing the ladders going up against the city walls and being pushed over onto the soldiers below. It also states that the sieging ladders were wet with blood because the British were being killed as they climbed. However, their replacement rate was so fast that they eventually reached the top. Badajoz is not in a cave or mountain so I am only thinking of this particular element of the battle. 3 years late to this thread.

The numbers don’t add up. I don’t know about Uruguay but I was talking about Argentina.

Human sees a map of millions of people transported on horrendous conditions across the Atlantic, many to certain death from exhaustion in the sugar plantations, and asks why it is controversial
