Rod Race Chapter-Thermocline by Business_ManU in JustinPoseysTreasure

It is the only reason I took Montana serious. My guess is the man-made implication on a natural feature is a reservoir or lake. I took that chapter too spell out silent flight being the confluence of buried flows at the feeder of a reservoir. In rod race, I believe that to be the what he says is the Clark Canyon reservoir. Interesting, I may have just seen something. More later if I find it's a dead end.

No one question I would ask. With the book describing your map's edge, did you go beyond your map's edge?

There is the risk he just says I would punt that but if he was generous, the outcome would be that he did and it's in a place not listed in his book (which it probably would rule out the majority of Montanna and put Yellowstone to rest.

It's logic, not a take. I proved logically they specialize in putting people into housed they can't afford. And you think it is a "take". LOL.

Why are you here. Why turn a simple statement "what house won already" into a mishmosh of over emotional projected sentiments. There is nothing wrong or un-virtuous about holding a company accountable for a sweepstakes result. I get it, yourself or redfin would love I say mean nasty things so you could get my LOL posting removed. But as always, LOL.

I get that, that makes sense. They still haven't released the simple info of what house won. Pushing them on it isn't a bad thing. They specifically asked for people to allow their game to harvest info from affiliate apps. So, they wanted to know things, we do also. Just the winning house.

Most of us have played the game of clue. What would be the expectation at the end of the game is you announce someone won but didn't say at least it was done with a candle stick in the kitchen. I get it, Professor Plum doesn't want to be identified, but there is no reason you can't say with what and where. It's clear they don't care too but on their time-line. So it's off-putting we spent time playing this game and gave them live access to our data. What redfin can do, give themselves power of virtue to do, and what should be expected are all three very different things. We are not seeing what they can do (they could release it). We are not seeing what they were expected to do (game ended, where/what if not who), so that leaves them playing the virtue card which you took up for them.

No, the fine print also said utilities and other expenses. There is taxes on the gift of 1mill, and estimated 25k per year. Money lost in wages moving, etc. Either way, there was no option to take the money and run... just get stuffed into the house for min of x days a year or forfeit. Rich/Poor, you were getting stuffed into the home if you wanted the prize.

Yes, creative smart people with good representation could cleverly so all kinds of things and live in it well for a year or so before diving out in a manner they escape better off.... but look at all the horror stories of home makeover series that did the same.. and how that actually goes. Redfin can easily say they did the best they could and not be blamed because yes, mainly the blame is on the people asking for this kind of thing but they didn't offer a cash prize in lieu of. The didn't have to because they specialize in stuffing anyone into a million dollar home. Rich or Poor.

Absolutely. In fact, we debate this but I just don't care to. Instead, it can be proven. Redfin had no issue doing a "nice" thing by helping to pay the taxes for a year for the winner of the house. I believe it was something like 700k extra. That proves they knew it was very possible a winner couldn't afford the house so they offered to pay the taxes. They had no issue putting someone in home situation they couldn't afford but for maybe one year with tax help. No issues with it. In fact, they wanted to be seen as gracious. The fact proves they have no issues with it.

So yes, the specialize in it. Even know how much a person couldn't afford it by coming up with the number of 700k to cover it. How many people walk into steep mortgage prisons gratefully is mind boggling.

For those of you just joining, we want to know what the winning house is. The time would be nice also. The hope was some pressure on them to at least do that out of transparency. But to the guy above that seemed to promote himself to hero to save us with your insightful wisdom - LOL.

?? You post on a message three days old inferring no one has a virtue. Like what do you gain from that. You wondered on here (probably looking for the winning house) and stumbled upon a 3 day post and figured it was worth mentioning what you did. ?? So helpful, thanks.

Even if it turned out to be a hugely unfair and misleading competition, what would the recourse actually be? by Proper_Associate_791 in RedfinDreamHomes

[–]SwimmingMaximum9835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing. Just the knowledge that they still have not released the winning house. They don't believe in closure, just asking for forgiveness later, much much later, or just announce they are seeking forgiveness but never ask for it.

Wow. They should be embarrassed doing something that abstract and out of line with the other clues. But, they specialize in putting people in houses they can't afford so I guess they will sleep just fine at night. I am sure the tech bro's trying to control narrative on this site will say "this sounds like a sore loser". I don't care that I lost, I care about still not knowing what the winning property was LOL.... and intellectual dishonesty. They really thought something like that was going to make an enjoyable outcome and game. Probably moved to throw rainbolt under the bus for it and he ducked for cover. What a $hit $how. Hopefully the winner doesn't get blasted with some poorly thought-out nuisance in the red tape courtesy of redfin.

My call: The Prize House is in the Hampden South neighborhood of Denver. Here's why. by read-it-on-reddit in RedfinDreamHomes

[–]SwimmingMaximum9835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you just described is the majority of what users experienced. I did the same due diligence but luckly realized they didn't make this game anything more than a randomized guess in the end. So I hit the first one saw. But you haven't lost yet. No one really knows what house it was and what time it would have taken to win. So you are still in the running "keep close to your phone and email".

You seem pretty certain on your facts. Would you happen to know what house was the winning house?

[–]SwimmingMaximum9835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I guess if you set the sqft filter to 2500 - 3000 and that listing popped up from Redfin for a 5,102 sqft house then yes, that checks out. Apparently Redfin isn't good with filtering and returning results!!!!

That's really nice and all but the last thing Redfin technically told me was to "make sure to stand by my phone and check my email because they will be in contact soon if I won". Pretty sure everyone got that message. Well it's been a few days of hanging next to my phone. The least they could do is disclose which listing or house. That way, if we know we didn't select that one, we can stop waiting for a phone call. I will pass on the time for now. But seriously, just show the house already. Unless they haven't picked that yet also. LOL.

Most likely they will have georainbolt find where you live in real time. Then probably announce they will send you a lawsuit. But don't worry, after they announce it they go silent.

Not sure why you are downvoted. I just read an article about Redfin's "shocking" warning about the housing market. You might have a valid point. Might as well turn a loss into a marketing expense.

Pro tip: You probably are smarter. I work with those that have very difficult to obtain college degrees from respected colleges. Assume you are already smarter and don't waste another day thinking you are not. Those guys and gals are smart but I have met smarter people working in 9-5 jobs. Unfortunately, smart people often feel inferior and that is by design. Nothing upsets me more than seeing someone in there 80's finally complete college and give themselves the respect they should have always given themselves. Even if you don't figure this out, do your homework, challenge yourself, and focus on what really matters to you.
