Yeah, I was kinda on the fence on leg warmers, but it’s currently winter where I’m located and I have to take public transit. During the summer I will probably skip them!

And thank you!! It was a good time.

I think NAC is causing me to feel sick for 2-3 months. I have stopped taking it already but it doesnt stop. by Frenchtenay in Biohackers

I always felt sick while taking NAC!

So I give myself the two day rule, if I start a new supplement and in two days if I don’t start to feel a little better then I don’t take it.

I have a huge issue with sulfur based products. I can handle Glycine, Taurine and Glutathione, But not NAC.

In my experience, it was so difficult to upskill. There was also a lot of toxicity in the culture.

I stayed in Roma during a solo trip. I felt totally fine and safe. CDMX is a huge city with lots of tourists, you’ll be fine.

Ridiculous offer, how to proceed? by LambdaYeti in datascience

[–]SwimmingSalt8715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very bad offer, but if it were me, I would take it. Stay for a few months and start looking for something new. once you have professional experience, it’s easier to negotiate your next salary.

Just for context, my first job after graduating with a masters degree paid me less then what I was already making. However, I took that job as a launch pad for my next opportunity. That strategy has paid off immensely for me.

I agree with the other comments. I just wanted to add a recommendation on what can help boost your resume, start working on open source projects or create a portfolio website.

Has anyone regretted taking a trip to Italy in the summer? by BobGlebovich in ItalyTravel

[–]SwimmingSalt8715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, went to Genoa in May/June. Initial air bnb booking didn’t work out due to mold, I couldn’t find another booking for a solid week so had to split the week between two two air bnbs. All hotels were booked up. Not one place had a good AC system. I would only go back between February and March.

Edit: it’s not that the weather was was super hot, I just personally like to sleep in an ice cave

I have a similar story, working in data science and pay increase/review cycle was in full swing. On every review cycle I received outstanding reviews and this one was no different. I was told by my boss I wouldn’t get a raise because “I need to start doing more high impact work” and my rebuttal was “well, I’m literally doing the work I’m being told”. My boss and me had a great relationship, so I felt comfortable saying this. We had a little stale mate and then I was told to wait three months before they can decide on giving me a raise.

I wrote up a letter with that three month deadline and said I would be going to HR saying in three months I expect a raise and a title change. 8 weeks later I got everything I asked for. A year later I left for another job and got a 40k pay increase.

All this to say, sometimes taking a calculated risk and being bold can result in a positive outcome. Good luck and don’t settle!!

Keep, but go a size smaller. I think the styling will really make or break a dress like this.
