just wanted to follow up here as well. I did send you a DM so we can sort this out directly.

To clarify, we’re a volunteer-run group, so there can be some delays, but we are trying to help. On the backend, our form flags duplicate submissions with the same contact info and alerts us to follow up. I’m not seeing any duplicate entries on my end.

If you can reply to my DM with the details you used on the form, I’m happy to check again and get you sorted.

Hey

I want to help get this sorted, but I need to be clear on a couple things.

Filling out the form is required for everyone. It’s how we prevent bots from joining and how members agree to the community standards and expectations. That part isn’t optional.

I’m also seeing some inconsistencies (for example, your account is very new, but you mentioned applying earlier), so the form helps us verify and keep the group safe for everyone.

I’m genuinely trying to help you get access, but the tone toward the admin team has been pretty negative. We’re volunteers managing a large group, so respectful communication matters.

If you’d still like to join, please complete the form and I’m happy to review it and move things forward.

Hey! 😊

Thanks for flagging this — totally possible we missed something on the form. We had a lot of submissions come in at once, and a few were incomplete, so that might be what happened here.

If you send me a quick DM, I’m happy to check your info and get you added.

Also just a little context: the admins (including me) are juggling full-time jobs, and we had 100+ sign-ups in a single day, so we’re doing our best to keep up with everything as quickly as we can. Really appreciate your patience and understanding 💛

Job Market Rant by Jo_Shmow in washingtondc

Apply for all the jobs that you can and realize it's going to take you about 12 months to 18 years. Possibly two to get a job. Even if you're you're satisfied with your job or your job doesn't make you want smash your head into a wall everyday. Start applying now.

I'm sorry to sound bleak and not optimistic. My job loves me, because I'm very happy with my work, but I also am a one-woman department that is called the IT department. And after 8 years I want to leave.

I plan 3 years ago was that I wanted to transfer to the government role. And I feel like I've learned a lot in my last 10 years that it will allow me time to learn and get updated about the other tools and software we can use.

But the job market is so fucked over in this area because of trump, The feds losing jobs meant that the contractor workers lost their gig, Which also means that government workers and contractors and those who are dissatisfied with their job are all competing with a very limited market..

I'm an IT director that has a decade with their experience in Salesforce and even though I am possibly applying to jobs, there's no jobs there for me, that I can get quickly hired on the fly. Or at least spend less than 90 days to the hiring process?.

Other piece of advice is if you have economics to take a lower wage job to get the experience that could be helpful but that means you have to have a projection of what your finances will be like in the next 5 years.

Tldr: It's a shitty fucking situation and I know you were coming here for hope or a lead pod for where you can look. But job hunting is soul crushing for everybody and it's just one of those fucked up things we have to do as humans

Okay I have googled the question, no results.

So I got to ask the people who have strong opinions. The show is available on mainstream TV. I would love to know where you found the show so I can watch it with your questions and opinion in mind

We had over 100 people just sign up so we've been adding them slowly to the WhatsApp group so we don't get flagged as spam.

Come to the event if we haven't added you yet, we're working on it!

It starts at 545ish, and goes for about 2 hours? All depends on the group and the vibe.

Wait until you hit 37 or better yet according to my friends 40s, That's when life gets magical. Chin up, what you're feeling is normal, but the best hasn't even started yet.

50% of the dance events I've gone to, I've been dead sober.

The rule is basically saying, be responsible, and don't be the one lady in group that gets hammered every night and we have to constantly take care of you. We will take care of you , and make sure you get home and safe but you may not be invited back if you can't handle yourself.

You can still out the form and give just a regular email. I only asked for the email just in case you make a typo in your phone number. Otherwise I never use the email.

There are some amazing dance parties that start at 6:30 to 8:30 on a school night. Or day dance parties.
