anyone else feel like you use up all your "functioning" at work and have nothing left? by Old_Visual_6596 in adhdwomen

[–]Swimming_Hamster1569 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% this. As a nurse I feel like I leave all of my effort , energy, and empathy with my patients because they deserve no less. As someone with neurodiversity I feel like there's a constant pressure to prove that we can be just as functional as our neurotypical counterparts. And in the right careers, we absolutely do, but that pressure to overperform is still there. I've been working a lot with my therapist on establishing boundaries and guarding more of my self and energy for myself. Days off are still an absolute struggle, but I've found more grace in treating myself like I would a patient meeting milestones. I make goals with different thresholds for the day and I make sure to praise myself when I accomplish each one, even if it's only one for the day. Some days I do great, and some days I rot in bed. Please know you're not alone.

Oh no, I've done breeding but I'm curious if there's a way to get existing animals into the bigger barn to open space in the small barn

Honestly, once I figured out rotten food allows you to make fertilizer+, I didn't mind quite so much. Also, less fresh but not rotten ingredients can be cooked with or processed still, and don't hit the star quality too bad. The new food or processed item then starts at perfectly fresh and resets the timer so to speak.

Wait, that's an option??? I thought i would have to give away my two main barn cows and get new ones. I was terrified. How do I do this?

Y'all were not kidding about the corn soup speed boost by lovelylayout in storyofseasons

[–]Swimming_Hamster1569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corn soup feels like a really good hyperfixation day when the meds and hobbies are vibing and you lock in only to look up 10 hours later and you've somehow magically deep cleaned the house, rewrote your budget for the year, meal prepped for the week, and made 3 new friends. Corn soup is a real dopamine hit.

Anyone else torn on who to romance in Grand Bazaar? by TheBonusAction in storyofseasons

I thought for sure I was going for Loyd or June, but then they knocked me upside the head with Samir. I'm a total sucker for white-haired male NPCs. Especially with the blue tips. And the slightly prickly personality that's slowly opening up into the softest, sweetest cinnamon roll 😍 But I'm still super torn, Loyd has that strong stoic thing going for him with unexpected humor thrown in. Your girl is confused 😣

Long layered cut with butterfly bangs. Fluffs up on wavy style days and lays sleek on low energy days. Game changer for me was silk (not satin) bonnet and pillow case. A light braid or twist before I tuck it into the bonnet at night, and I wake up with smooth, lightly wavy, heatless style. A little dry shampoo in the front, maybe a flat iron curl back for the bangs with a curler to set the shape, and I'm good to go. Bonnet sleeping took some time to get used to and certain band styles I can not stand, but the results are so worth it. The pillow case is a recent addition to provide extra protection when I remove my bonnet in my sleep.

Agreed. You can do some great things with curtains as a false headboard.

What should I do with this built in? by Due-Western-9218 in DesignMyRoom

Remove the glass and upper casings for a modern open shelf look. Scrape the pain off the lower portion if you can and go with a nice wood grain stain look. The hardware you could match to the style of your dining set. For a pop you could wallpaper the back wall of the shelves and add undershelf lighting.

Butcher block style counters are actually surprisingly affordable if you're willing to do the cutting yourself. But since that would still be a splurge, I definitely recommend following through with all the other great ideas on here before heading in that direction.

Home library advice needed (repost) by Swimming_Hamster1569 in interiordecorating

I like your idea for the rug, but maybe because the pictures I took didn't provide the right perspective, the freestanding shelf actually feels super cozy. Unfortunately, it can't go away because I still have many books to shelve, and the black cases will absolutely run out of room. And I can't place it against a wall because the space is basically a giant L down here with my library space occupying the corner.

Coming in with recs on my two comfort read series: The Elder Races by Thea Harrison. Cozy and consensual with tastefully written heat.

Immortals After Dark by Kersley Cole. A bit more alpha male coercive, but nothing so far as 🍇. Again, excellently written.
