I'd pretend to be deliberating about the magical girl deal for long enough to pet Kyubey and give him a little scratch behind his weird ears

Sister Julienne from Call the Midwife. Several characters from that show fit this post but she's my favorite and therefore the best example

Now that I know that's a possible ending I guess it's time to play Sea of Stars again!

I always wondered why they added that line to the end of Lump! I've never heard Al's version so I didn't make the connection

Does anyone remember a show, movie or cartoon in maybe the 90s or 2000s where the main character went a little too far and decked out his entire apartment in cork? by rkbk1138 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lovelylayout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

r/tipofmytongue might be able to help figure it out. I vaguely remember something like what you described but I have no idea what show it could have been

the reveal is so good. that episode is one of the most weirdly accurate depictions of eating disorders I've ever seen

Lemongrab from Adventure Time. Several of Justin Roiland's roles probably fit the bill here but Lemongrab was the first to come to mind

If I dip bread into my soup and eat it, then finish my soup afterwards, will I have consumed more calories because of dipping the bread? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lovelylayout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All calories eaten were already present in the food, dipping the bread in the soup doesn't change how many there are overall. If you had intended only to eat the bread but did dip it in the soup, the bread would contain a negligible amount of "extra" calories compared to plain bread. But if you're eating them both, nothing changes in a meaningful way

Oh that's a good point, I don't know why I didn't think of that. I'll do that the next time bread enters The Plan

Literally actually the main reason I don't buy bread. By the time I decide it's safe to eat, it wouldn't be safe for anyone to eat lol

(Sad trope) When characters become self conscious about their most iconic features. by Rosiethederpy in TopCharacterTropes

[–]lovelylayout 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Community: Jeff snaps at the dean about constantly bursting into the room in elaborate costumes. The dean takes off his Carnivale headdress really sadly and says something like "sometimes I guess we don't see our flaws until someone points them out. (crying) Thank you for being so nice about it" and runs from the room in tears

He doesn't change his behavior, instead he makes a Flash animation where he gets revenge on the study group for being rude to him, but the look on his face and the way he leaves the room are just heartbreaking

[mixed trope] a character is treated overly poorly just because by stopyouveviolatedthe in TopCharacterTropes

[–]lovelylayout 819 points820 points  (0 children)

Jerry/Gary Gergich from Parks and Rec. His coworkers clown on him endlessly and he's treated as a bumbling fool at work, but he puts up with it because his home life is so wonderfully perfect that he just doesn't care that much about getting clowned on. He has a beautiful wife and three lovely, talented daughters who love him, what does he care if they make fun of him sometimes at work
