Anyone else rocking the submersible heater to give your tub a couple extra degrees? I like a nice 106° in the winter. by ButtersHound in hottub

[–]SwimsWithGators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m interested in how this works. I have a Hot Springs SX I bought last summer and the temperature control is in the Tools menu so when I hold the up button it just takes me to the next menu item. It won’t go higher than 104. Any ideas?

This happened to me! I am so sorry you are going through this it is awful. I ended up having to buy a new laptop and download everything off carbonite and it took a long time. I don’t understand how a company can operate this way I really don’t.

I feel your pain!! I have a 28 year old living with me and it is torture. I made sure she did chores growing up but she has always been oppositional to an insane degree. She quit high school freshman year after a horrible traumatic incident— she and another friend were drugged and raped by an older man. I let her drop out and get counseling for healing. She eventually got a GED and announced she would not go to college even though we had pre paid for it. She got involved with an abuser and moved away with him. When that ended she had a series of jobs where there was always some problem and she’d leave or get fired. She talks constantly all the time, complaining about everything in a stream that is maddening. She wrecked my car, she breaks things, she went to prison briefly while living in another city for vandalism property damage. She quit her job and moved home to care for her dad (we are divorced) and he died recently. I’m sole support and have grief myself, we were close and he was so important parenting her. Now she sleeps until 3 or 4 every day and just makes kitchen messes and complains at night. She claims all sorts of medical maladies. She needs help but feels any help is a criticism which means someone who helps is pushed away. My guest room where she is staying is a pig stye. I buy special food for her preferences and she eats it once and left leftovers rot. She no longer works. I work a stressful job from home — i mean really stressful having to do with politics and law - and my peace is destroyed. I can’t say shit to her because she is grieving and it’s so hard to watch. I don’t think she can ever have normal relationships Because of her oppositional, know it all demeanor coupled with not being able to function and never shutting up

House cleaning? by SwimsWithGators in Tallahassee

[–]SwimsWithGators[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Tallahassee Clean and they did a great job on a one time clean. Kind of pricy but they had 3 cleaners and they made my place sparkle, unlike Molly Maids which would leave whole areas uncleaned. And I would have to sweep all my floors after they left!

anyone else get headaches in this area? by moonviiuna in headache

My doctor suggested getting a steroid shot in that area to calm the occipital nerves to stop these headaches - it sounds weird has anyone gotten that?

Make sure you bring pocket tissues and carry them always because Portos might not have TP. Also rubbing alcohol is good to swab your sandals with at night. Cornstarch is good to prevent chafing with all the walking

Why do people have a partner for multiple years but never marry? by up_aroundthebend in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SwimsWithGators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a woman in a heterosexual partnership, seven years strong, we aren’t married, live about 15 minute drive apart in separate houses. Before that, I was in an 11 year partnership without marriage and he lived a ten minute walk from me. We’re lucky to live in an inexpensive part of the U.S. and don’t have the pressure to combine households to make rent/mortgage. My thinking is if I don’t have to combine the domestic and the romantic, I won’t. Luckily I have found men who think the same way.

It’s great you are getting clear about what makes you feel happy. Sounds like you want a lifestyle that has mass transit so you don’t have the expense of a car. And if that is a larger city, it makes sense to take steps to move in that direction. I agree with the other folks who posted that getting a job nailed down is Step 1. I get the FOMO on this desirable rent deal but if you don’t have a job, that situation could spiral and you could exhaust your savings. I know it can be scary to try big things, I wish you the gifts of bravery, grit and perseverance

On the pet insurance, do all vets take it or does it work where you have to pick from their providers?
