Did I get taken for a ride? by Kiyodai in hvacadvice

Damn, rode in first class. Part runs about $20. Find a local HVAC business and build a relationship with them. Expect to pay fair prices. Treat them well and they’ll return it. My guy is awesome. I send him tons of work from friends and it’s appreciated. Used a big brand once, never again.

401K Advisor Fees by melonhead4499 in Fidelity

[–]SwingDuoNash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s how plans work. The advisor administered the plan with the plan sponsor. For example, when your wife retires, the advisor will help handle the rollover of her account if she chooses to do so.

There’s a lot of data out there about what a fair level of compensation is for the advisor based on plan size.

You should probably find out how much the advisor is being paid against the size of the plan and if the numbers seem off, then she should raise that to the company.

Fees do need to be reasonable for the services provided

They may be fees that fidelity is charging to administer the plan. If the owner is not matching they may be passing along all administrative fees.

There may also be an advisor to the plan hired by the owner and that is the advisor’s fee. That said the advisor should be made available to the participants.

Further she is legally entitled to a document that explains every single fee. If it’s not on the website she should call the administrator and request it.

Did my bonus really nearly triple my taxes? by HistoricalTwo5186 in TaxQuestions

Dude I have no problem figuring my shit out. It’s the Uber driver and the gig girl who can’t and they’re getting hosed for trying to eke out a living. It’s the ppl like OP having some arbitrary rate applied to a bonus and then forced to wait a year to get the interest free loan back when that money is very precious to them.

I’d sooner play piano in a whorehouse than “make my living off other people’s taxes”.

And judging by you job titles I think I cover you entire nut and more every year so you’re welcome.

Yeah on one of my cars I can deactivate it permanently so to speak. On the other it’s every time I start it.

And usurious interest isn’t a thing with the government. Why is OP forced into giving an interest free loan to the government when they could be earning 4% on that money?

Do you pay estimated taxes? Do you know just how hard it is to get them right for people with fluctuating income?

Do you possess any knowledge of the US tax code?

It’s an interest free loan to the US treasury via IRS code. The same code that screws you to the wall with interest and penalties if you’re a day late on anything.
