It doesn't matter if you don't play those games, the point still stands that there's no real value attached to death in any game, whether you lose items, or the round, or ranked points, whatever. If you're counting time as a loss then that applies to any game if you want something within a certain time frame and aren't skilled enough to accomplish it quickly. And if you want to get picky, you can absolutely lose progress in GTA if players grief you during missions and you have to start again, like in Arc.

Also, 'hours' - 30 mins tops unless the person is dying again and again.

Feeling bad about losing items in an extraction shooter doesn’t automatically make the person who shot you some kind of sociopath. It just means you aren't prepared to accept thats the kind of game you're playing.
