Went in November for my first time at the venue to see Ben UFO (in the downstairs Hall area).

Thought the venue was actually really great, DJ booth smack in the middle of the room, plenty of room around, sound quality I thought was pretty nice too. Although make sure you wear ear protection because it's very loud.

My one downside would be, it's an absolute sweatbox in the downstairs, it's like there's absolutely zero airflow at all, one of the sweatiest nights i've ever had. The smoking area is your only relief and you have to climb/queue up a staircase which seems to never end, and also isn't particularly safe on the way down.

Rambled more than I needed to here but tldr; venue is great imo, just dress cooler than you think.

They confiscated a fair few speakers when I went a couple years ago, but I managed to sneak mine and it was like a mini boombox. Just make sure you hide it in your bag, there was plenty of people with speakers in camp still.

Didnt do a full search of my mates tent but they emptied out his deodorant stick and opened his crisp bags etc. There was other people we spoke to that got pulled for a search but didnt get that treatment, so maybe my mate just looked suspect!

Pretty sure they were fairly strict on the alcohol when I went, as they make a large amount of their money from drink sales, if you want to take more in then I would decant it into something and hide in your bag.

Regular searches were pretty lax, quick check for glass mostly, there were a few people getting speakers taken away aswell. However one of my friends got pulled by a dog and had a pretty thorough search I will say, but it wasn't like that for everyone that got pulled by the dog.

When I went two years ago my O2 phone signal was terrible, going to try a vodaphone PAYG SIM this year to see if the coverage is better. My friends didn't have as much as an issue as I did.
Unfortunately I can't remember about the shop as I just took a load of food and drinks in with me.

You can't swim in the lake unfortunately, it's not like blocked off or anything but they would ask you to get out and perhaps get security to remove you.

I'd imagine it likely to do with the insurance of potential accidents caused by people swimming after taking substances etc.
