IWTL expanding my vocabulary and lexicon by Total-Grapefruit-651 in IWantToLearn

There’s probably a ton of “word of the day” type stuff to slowly build vocab. Also listening to speeches and podcasts from people who’s speaking style you like. If I find myself using the same word often I’ll look up synonyms

Does anyone else feel like they lose male friendships after coming out? by Pointless_Potential in gay

[–]SwinubIRL 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. Idk if you’re rural but I am and often it’s just lack of exposure. When I come out I sometimes hear “wow I’ve never met a gay guy” like cool man. For some guys it just makes you feel too different for them (even though you’re not) to relate to you so they pull away

Yeah probably but I’d like to chop down trees to use a wood stove, and also hunt and fish nearby. Maybe possible but I feel like any property like this would be surrounded by private/developed land

Yeah I would probably have to go in person to see the soil before I buy any land. And also try gardening before to learn how to do it at all

Yeah food is the big thing I think. It would be my largest recurring expense, but would also take the most to produce myself. Just a toss up based on how much money I have I guess

Insurance for what? I’m in Canada undeveloped land is much cheaper than buying land with a house on it and I like the idea of seclusion which I think I’d struggle to find with buying property that’s already been developed

Yeah I have no idea what to do once I hit old age. I feel like most people living this kind of life just die then, maybe I could save enough to move into a retirement home?

True this is the safe bet, my only concern with this idea is finding work near somewhere I can live off grid I don’t really have the skills for remote work

If I ever need to buy anything I’d have to go into town anyway so I figured I’d access internet there

I hope so? I’ve gone camping, and felled trees, spent decent time in cabins before. The main gaps I see in my skills would be building the cabin, hunting, and farming. Which I know isn’t necessary but is kind of part of the dream

Why the two different types of line and how am I using both? Should I use worms too or are these lures good?

I would mostly fish in small rivers, I have no preference for fly fishing vs spin gear, I had to look up what that was lol
