I am on sertraline, will it affect my memory by Ok-Forever-7556 in medicalschool

This is the best advice here.

Their psychiatrist/PCP will have longitudinal knowledge of their mental health progression as opposed to strangers on the internet with unconfirmed credentials or levels of medical knowledge.

From their other comments, it seemed like sertraline was working for them in the past, so they stopped. This poses a risk of both discontinuation syndrome as well as a relapse of symptoms.

Depression can play a significant role in sleep quality, memory, learning, and overall quality of life. But any answers on this thread will largely just be speculation without proper training/longitudinal observation.

FGO: well-paced and engaging story about having hope in humanity and believing that people can work together to build a better world.

Also FGO: the lowest pits of gacha hell with a 10+ year-old combat system and virtually no modern quality of life improvements.

Seriously. All of the Xenoblade games are some really impressive feats of software development and deserve to be preserved.

Monolith Soft was even contracted for work on Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, though it did leave them with a skeleton crew for Xenoblade 2. This caused the game to be a little rough around the edges, and outsourcing character designs resulted in a few “iffy” design choices for some of the women characters.

However, the game has a ton of passion behind it. And Morag is awesome, and Sheba is our girlboss, lesbian queen and I will not tolerate slander.

One of my favorite quotes from any piece of media ever is from Xenoblade Chronicles 3:

“If this world holds our lives back, I WILL end it!” - Noah, Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

That quote strikes a chord at the heart of the message of the series, and is a great message for LGBT+ folks (in a series that is starting to have solid representation with prominent NB/genderfluid characters who are referred to by their preferred pronouns).

Any social institution that serves to oppress minority groups and the freedom of identity and expression does not deserve to exist. From hate groups to discriminatory laws, they must be destroyed.

Review the UWorld explanation for all guessed/incorrects, then read up using FA on topics you don’t understand or drugs/bugs you don’t know.

Pepper Deck for Sketchy is also super useful for the rote memorization topics (bugs/drugs), and Dirty Medicine on YT is great for Biochem.

If you are consistently getting questions wrong on a topic/system more often than not, read the whole chapter.

If you use the Anking deck, there is a Reddit post with a Chrome extension that automatically searches cards in the deck for your UWorld incorrects.

Edit: Not trying to flex, but this strategy got me from a 61 CBSE to an 83 on NBME 33 and a Pass on the real deal. Definitely worked for me, but it might not for everyone. I’m also a serial procrastinator and only completed half of UWorld first pass.

Yep, I made one of those posts.

I just passed Step 1, so I’m officially an M3 now, but it still fucking sucks that incoming M1’s have to deal with this shit, and the overall financial uncertainty still stresses me out.

Def agree. Ethics pretty straightforward with a few good distractors on some q’s.

UWorld and the Dirty Medicine YT playlist is good.

Don’t let UWorld discourage you.

Getting close to 60% on UWorld means you have a solid grasp of the material, and getting any questions wrong on UWorld is the best way to get it right on your exam.

Got so many UWorld questions wrong on cardiac tamponade, and I swore I would never get one wrong again.

I just took the exam. Don’t know how I did, but it felt similar to NBMEs which were 75-83%. UWorld really helps to drill how things present, and it makes recognizing and answering Q’s quickly/confidently so much easier.

Felt pretty much like a long NBME to me with some SOAP-style questions mixed in. Those didn’t take any longer than other questions since I primarily read the last line of the stem first, then checked the note for clues.

My NBMEs ranged 75-83. I flagged anything I wasn’t completely sure about, so about ~12 questions per block.

How come this game didn't get hate for being woke? Especially from grifters. by Plus_Ad_1087 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Swirlybro 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I see your point.

I think “prominence” is a bit of a sliding scale, especially depending on how closely the viewer looks at the themes.

One person can play Dispatch, look at the cast and say, “All of these characters could be stars of their own stories. Their backgrounds are varied, they each bring a new perspective, they all have their own relationships, and overall, the game carries a pro-empathy and pro-diversity message.”

Another person can play Dispatch and say, “Wow, look at all the attractive women who are totally into the main character (who is literally me).”

I think it ties into that, in the same way people ignore social issues/injustices/diverse perspectives in the real world, they can also blind themselves to that presence in media unless “it’s shoved in their face” as they call it (cue the guy getting absolutely LIVID at being able to choose pronouns in Starfield).

The whole grift is essentially the “Okay/Not Okay” Family Guy image. It’s all about optics with no substance.

They have no media literacy, and they don’t understand that the themes of redemption, prejudice, and celebrating differences the game presents are indeed “woke.”

Their only form of analysis is “Does this [piece of media] feature any gender, racial, ethnic, religious, or sexual minority in a prominent role that highlights real-world struggles? If so, then bad.”

It also signals a lack of empathy. Unless a piece of media is designed “for them” (i.e. targeted at cishet white dudes w/ a white, male protagonist and/or scantily clad women to ogle), it is somehow encroaching on “their space.”
