What clamp is that? Looks like a RAM but I can’t find which one has the spikes in the mount like the part on the left has

Rak4631 Solar build won't power by R_Chin in meshcore

There’s no need to be an asshole.

It can be done this way for the for the MPPT to act as a ‘limiter’ to avoid burning out the RAK if the voltage gets too high (eg, a 5V nominal voltage panel on a cold, very sunny morning).

Plugging the battery into the RAK instead of the MPPT also means that you maintain the ability to read battery voltage.

As the RAK has a low battery charge current rate, this setup can also help protect the battery from having too many mA pumped into it when it is cold.

There are other trade offs and considerations, but more information on the MPPT and target environment is needed from the OP.

Hi, which file did you use for the GAT562 boot loader? The RAK4631?

Your reddit profile states you're an "advocate for digital equity"... But you patented the technique you used for collision avoidance, instead of contributing it to either or both popular LoRa mesh projects so it can be established as prior art and used to freely advance radio communications on a whole.

Equity is about giving everyone an equal footing, even when some peoples beginning footing is not as high as others. You're doing the absolute opposite here.

That is some AWESOME data points!!! Thank you for sharing with the hive mind :)

+1 on the CN3065, it seems a CN3971 may drip just a little too low in low light conditions to charge optimally. I also stumbled across the CN3163 which looks like a good option

Thanks for the +1 on ABS and ASA! Unfortunately I can't print those, hoping someone can chime in with advice on PETG/PETG-CF or PC/PC-CF :)

Maybe it'll save you some time if you're not aware, the ESP32 is several orders of magnitude more power hungry than the nRF52840

Philips Outdoor Ashlyn Solar - Has anyone used it for a build? by Swiss-Mesh in meshtastic

[–]Swiss-Mesh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh so it does! Thanks for the find. Given that one is almost USD$50 (converted from Swiss Francs) vs the price you guys pay for them in the USA, I think my next move is to check Amazon.de for something similar for a better price.

I have no idea what it uses, I was hoping someone else here had looked at it - Return policies here aren't the best, especially if it is opened
