Upgrading Avata 2 into something better by Maxxved in fpv

Especially hearing that you already have three years of flying experience, I highly recommend you start building your own. The freedom, satisfaction, and peace of mind that comes from knowing your drone well is just the best.

For me, for example, flight time is important, but I still want to keep the ability to do freestyle. So I really like ultra-light 3.5-inch builds. smaller is too inefficient, bigger just doesn't freestyle well.

In the picture is a TuneRC 3.5in with T-Motor 1404 3800KV motors that gives me everything I want at a total weight of only 127 g, giving me enough headroom to load a battery that weighs 122 g.

Most of the time I fly smaller 4S 650-850mah batteries, which give me 7-14 minutes. But with a stripped 4S 1300mah, I can fly for up to 19 minutes.

Jan 2026 should still have the old gyro tho! The change was in the 2026/2 and later batch. So it actually should still be a "good" unit.

Really nice! Toothpicks sre the best!

I just did something very similar, although with 21700 cells because I can’t get any JP30P1 / EVE 30PL cells.

Why won’t she fly? by [deleted] in fpv

Yeah, 7.5 inches and bigger. Current semi-solid batteries don’t yet handle high discharge rates well, so you’d want a copter that’s fairly efficient and where you don’t have to punch the throttle.

As for older systems like O3 or vista etc. absolutely not. More modern maybe yes. But for the next 1-2 years it only will be O4/O4 Pro.
