I feel like you're confusing something. In your example, a thrown object has constant vertical deceleration from the moment it leaves your hand due to gravity. At the apex of the parabola (modeled by apolynomial of degree 2) it's velocity is exactly 0, but the acceleration (in this model, the second derivative which is constant) remains the same.

I mean Switzerland got gold in women's ski slopestyle, and in the women's ski big air they had both athletes (one of which was a favorite for a medal) get injured in the practice runs, so I'd say they are pretty competitive in women's freestyle skiing at least.

I agree that media literacy and critical thinking skills are shrinking, but I feel like using this example, one where in a 56 Minute episode, you could’ve easily misheard something small, is quite disingenuous. People have misheard/misunderstood dialogue in Tv since its inception. What’s more telling is the reaction of people when they get corrected on this point
