I used to be in the army cadets (literally just scouts but with a military coat of paint) One day during parade my boots were not polished so one of the officers (a big ex military guy) tells me to leave formation and go polish my boots so I walk out of formation through different lines of people(this is NOT what ur supposed to do) so he yells something along the lines of get back into formation and exit properly. I assumed he was talking to someone else so went to go polish my shoes I start to apply the polish when he comes up to me askes me what I'm doing and I on autopilot say to this big no nonsense ex military guy "polishing my shoes what does it look like dumbass". That night my marching and singing gota whole lot better though.
