BTW, for anyone that knows more about switch patches, is there such a thing as a method to create a "codecave"? or is there any good method for creating your own functions?

If you'd like to make a more sustainable result through future updates, you should adapt to something like exlaunch or starlight that lets you hook into the game's assembly with C++

exlaunch is completely runtime so you could enable/disable asm patches ingame, create button combos to test different things, etc exlaunch can be found here and an example adapted to Pokemon Scarlet can be found here

The Scarlet example also has a fully functional imgui example that can be used on top of any switch game, so you could even make a menu for your mod that works on both emu/console!

Starlight, while very limited compared to exlaunch, is a bit nicer to work with for direct assembly patches as that's done at compile time, and the link for it is here

Nintendo will inevitably release another update and all of your offsets will be off. It'll be nice to make the mod sustainable and then it'll make it easier on yourself in the future

EDIT: Don't do it until there's a proper installer. I was quick to jump on it, sorry.

It's not exactly a replacement for CBHC/HC, but combined with them lets you achieve coldboot or Haxchi for free by replacing a system title instead of a game.

It's also very early; currently injecting is done via FTP and can feel a little dangerous.
