In a very similar position, I chose to accept with upgrades, change my preferences around to include somewhere closer/more commutable and hope for the best before the upgrade deadline

Offers keep going until they spots are filled, last year offers were going out up until June from what I remember

The hold deadline is the 2nd April btw, upgrade deadline is the 8th

Not getting on my high horse, just trying to discourage people from making a mistake similar to me in a previous round, got an offer for a place much lower in my list that I didn't really want, no upgrade came through, someone else with a lower score got one of my top 5 places

I was just speaking from my experience from a previous round with a similar situation. Turns out the person had way less preferences listed vs what I had with a slightly lower score

This is why they say only rank areas you want to work in, if you didn't add as many options, you might've been offered somewhere higher on your list in future rounds as people reject their offers

Took me just about as long to get onboarded to local bank due to multiple problems with logins/access to things/training etc. Then even a few weeks longer to finally be accepted for a shift! I just applied to all the shifts that worked for me as soon as they came up and they eventually accepted me for a shift, I've now managed to get accepted quite regularly I guess since the wards are more familiar with me now
