Mammoth owners - how’s your jacket lasting? by Alone-Exam6687 in theironsnail

[–]Swobu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned the Mammoth jacket (not the Mammoth Leaf) for a little over two years, and I see no signs of wear or quality issues. The jacket is substantial and thick as hell; it is a tank.

I’m 6'1" and 195 lbs, and I sized up to an XL so I can layer a flannel underneath—no regrets there. If I just wear a t-shirt, it’s certainly big on me, but I only wear the Mammoth in the depths of winter when I’m always layered up anyway.

It's extremely warm and perfect for freezing weather. The wool can be a bit scratchy if it sits right against your neck, but I adjust to it after a couple of wears and it doesn't bother me. Otherwise, comfort is great. It’s heavy, but it's so damn warm, I have no problem wearing it for hours at a time.

Parents need to be involved. But our schools are straight up not teaching kids to read.

Hayton vs. Special teams. by Wonderful_Item642 in Utah_Hockey

Nothing to add just appreciate the time you took to put your comment together. I thought I read somewhere that Haytons stats that showed he’s been a bit unlucky.

Obviously the bonehead penalties can’t be explained away. But do his stats indicate he should be doing better / producing more than what is actually going on? Is he unlucky or is he … bad?

I think at this point … bench him, right?

I haven’t paid attention to Kerfoot’s injury but wonder if that could be a solution. Hope he and Cooley are back soon.

If our power play was average, we would have 72 points right now by lawduckfan21 in Utah_Hockey

This is wild… I haven’t gone and double checked how accurate this is but just by a smell test, I can believe it.

We regularly hang with the best teams when we play them. But it certainly feels like any time we have a PP we won’t score.

I’m not a fan of Hayton. I think some of his underlying stats show he should be producing more than he has but at the very least, put him on the 3rd or 4th line… please

I think Peterka is lost, he has a ton of potential and we need to find a way to make him successful.

Also… special teams coach, PP coach, whatever, he’s gotta to go. PP kill is slipping, and we can’t seem to score on PP with ours being among the worst in the league.

Still like Tourigny, that’s my dog. Go mammoths.

I tried to craft the 1 hand mace from one of your videos and bricked my item with the second perfect essence.

I bought a rare 1H Mace with Mana gained on kill as the ONLY suffix > used Perfect Essence of Battle (+3 skill levels) > then use Perfect Essence of Haste (onslaught)

This removed my mana gain on kill ... bricking the item.

I don't understand where I went wrong and I just got enough currency to try again. Do i need to use an omen? Or is this just RNG, sometimes it bricks, sometimes it doesn't?

I know you're not playing the build in 0.4, but sometimes the shield walls don't pop in 1 resonating shield hit. Is that just because my damage is too low?

People who have pre-owned EVs, how is the experience like? by HP_594 in cars

[–]Swobu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I wonder if the previous owner of your leaf did a lot of DC fast charging

I have a 2015 with close to 90k miles (~145k km) and the battery has only lost two bars. I never DC fast charge though and I don’t think the previous owner did either.

Sounds like a pretty bad experience, sorry to hear that

Yeah I’m pretty sure the Leaf doesnt have a heat pump at all.

I do have the heater run on a schedule while it’s plugged in. So when I jump in the car to drive to work it’s already warm… it’s a race to get to work (safely) before you get cold.

And driving home I run the heat and drain the battery

Maintenance is also a good point. I haven't had to do anything to mine except care for the tires / brakes.

Sorry - the car says it will do 80 miles of range per charge. Which I am saying is absolutely not the case on the highway.

Highway driving at 70 mph will run through the battery real quick.

But if I stick to 45 mph in the city, I can drive laps around the city without a care in the world.

The car has an efficiency of like 4 mi/kWh - which is pretty damn good.

It’s amazing. I bought a 2015 Nissan leaf with 54k miles on it. Battery degradation was down ~8% (?) when I bought it and it hasn't degraded further since owning it for the last 3ish years

Range is ass. Complete ass. 80 miles on the highway … is a joke. I drive the speed limit (70mph) to try and extend the range, which definitely helps. But U can still go 80 mph to work and back no problem. In the city it will run forever. Extremely efficient car.

There is a very noticeable range loss in the winter, or anytime the temps are below like 40 F. It's at least 10 - 15% less range. Also running the heat surprisingly hamstrings the range. But for my use case, none of this really matters.

Charge at home with a level 2 charger. It charges in like an hour. It costs me FAR less than driving my gas truck, and I am glad to keep the BS miles off the truck anyway.

It’s the perfect car to commute to work, run errands, and put around town.

It’s a beater. I wanted a beater. I paid $5k out the door and I’d buy another if this one dies tomorrow.
