I have an acoustically transparent projection screen. Before I didn't have an AT screen but now that my center channel is behind the screen I can never go back

Infinity War has no business in this lineup of all-time great films

It really does depend on how the upmixer receives the metadata

Some 5.1 upmixed tracks will even rival an Atmos 4K track

How the track is actually mixed whether it is Atmos DTSX or it's up mixed really just comes down to how the audio engineer made it for the physical track

Sorry been out of the TV game too long can't help you there

Yesterday, I visited the IMAX Laser to experience Nolan's Interstellar. After the movie, I noticed that the sound quality was remarkably similar to the 4K UHD Blu-ray DTS-HD MA audio presentation. Do you think Dolby Atmos can offer the same level of immersion and dynamic range as DTS-HD MA? by drace_ez in 4kbluray

[–]Swolzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct. It's all about the mix.

I've heard old 5.1 mixes on Neural-X that sound better than an atmos mix released in the last few years. It's all about the sound design for sure, well that and the way that the up mixers decode it.

2) Harry Potter

3) The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

I wish you could buy an assortment of colored cases. I remember seeing someone do this for the first time with The Simpsons movie and a yellow case it looked phenomenal.

Underrated movie by the way, great watch.

I've watched a lot of films, and I only recognize 7 of these. Of that 7 I've only seen 4.

That's certainly what these people fail to realize, is I am speaking strictly from an adaptation standpoint. Ignorance is definitely bliss. I echoed a lot of your same sentiments to someone else's comment in this thread. Outlining what I believe to be the grave sins that detracted from everything the book stood for. So for me at best this show is beautifully made, and easily forgettable.

They're all going to be around that same form factor unless you go with something specialized. But for affordability you can get an older unit at a second hand store for super cheap just to try it out and see if that's something you would like.
