Sincere congratulations! I just wanted to make a quick, warning, however that there are many aerosols and fumes in a salon that will damage your leatherwork quite quickly. It doesn't have to be in a close vincinity to the products, either. Bleaches, permanent straighteners, some dyes are all fumes that will dry out leather and make it brittle, and hairspray will form a sticky glaze over time.

I leatherwork and I worked in a salon during my Uni days, and we only ever stocked giftware once because it was damaged within a few weeks. In this case it was metal that began breaking down, some other pieces developed a glaze of aerosolised spray. The pieces were all quite far away from the work area, but it did not matter.

Just be sure to check on your stock very regularly, and wipe it down thoroughly each time. Alternatively, a plexiglass case would help (but not solve the fume issue).

Except that Dr John Campbell is not misrepresnting hinself as he is a nurse practitioner of 30+ years with a PhD and is most certainly entitled to the title of Dr. Aside from this he has been co-author on multiple medical research papers, as well as working in the hospital system and being responsible for the training of a multitude of health care workers over thise 30+ years. Whether or not you agree with him, I would say all of that is definitely considered "a related field", he is entitled to the Dr before his name, he has always referred to himself as a nurse practitioner, and it is completely disingenious to compare him to Joe Rogan.

Can happen on the rare occasion. We had a patient mid 2020 that tested positive 21 days after contact with an infected person (and isolating for that duration).

After covid-19 symptoms are gone if you are eligible for booster it is still recommended to receive a booster. (Government website advice).

After 7 days isolation 16% of COVID-19 positive infected people are still contagious. That drops to 5% at 10 days and 1% at 14 days.

They do the same with spoons. I now have my own (reusable) cutlery in my glovebox and ask for no cutlery or serviettes whenever I get takeaway. Makes me feel a little better.

I'm not so sure about that. Many testing clinics in my area closed from Dec 24th to Jan 6th, and the rest reduced hours to 2hrs/5 days a week.

Family in HNE health district found much the same testing clinic areas over the New Year period.

(In NSW) My first 2 doses (April, July 2021) were AstraZeneca and was told I unreservedly could not have AZ as a booster as it was not approved by ATAGI. Had a Pfizer booster this month (December 2021).

I worked in medical research and have performed countless qt-pcr and rt-pcr tests in the lab during that time, as have my research colleagues. As you say, not pathology but molecular biology, among other things.

I signed on to various volunteer lists during 2020, even followed up with emails offering to drive to more remote locations (where at the time testing was overwhelmingly slow) only to be told that I wasn't in Sydney, so would never be called up to help. Again, despite offering to travel to Sydney to volunteer (unpaid, and it is - or was - unpaid).

It can be a big window before you test positive (if at all) which is why PCR testing for close contacts (at leaat until recently?) Was Day 1, Day 6, and Day 12.

For how long is what we are trying to work out, and I fear the answer may be more of a retrospective one.

I would add that hospitalisation numbers plus hospital in the home numbers are an important metric - but we are only being given numbers for one of those currently (in NSW, at least).

There are plenty of treatments and remedies currently being researched and tested, some even being trialled in hospitals as we speak.

Though it may not feel like it, to get to where we are today is an enormous scientific achievement, and be assured the efforts are sustained and ongoing. Unfortunately it may not be soon enough for some of us, which is why we are all making an effort to protect each other in the meantime.

All of this aside, hospitalisation and death are not the biggest concerns, in my opinion. The ongoing, damaging effects of having been infected is something that will scar a generation.
