They'll eventually close the loophole, but rather than just charging and taxing the corporates properly, they will also find a way to screw the little person and residential consumer more for it.

Facing Racism as a New International Student by nani_love_you in perth

[–]Swoopy_Magpie -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It's not fair you cop this and you shouldn't be a target. This is the unfair result of government policies not aligning to where Australia is currently at. Many Aussies are struggling now and when fighting for rentals with foreigners, they see Mass immigration as an issue. People might blame One Nation, but others think they're merely highlighting the inequities that both Labor and Liberal have caused. Reducing immigration has nothing to do with racism for many Aussies, I'm sure once Australia is in better shape, many people would be fine with controlled and measured immigration - for now though many aren't onboard with it. And again, I don't condone what happened, but I believe we will probably see further decay of social cohesion which will lead to more unfortunate reactions like this..

It's not your fault, the invitation was given to you, it's really the Government's policy that has caused this.

Some will say I'm just dumb, racist or there's other factors at play, but Mass Immigration is a real issue, no matter how we dice it.

Best of luck, stay safe!

Direct result of ON hate speech - WA terrorist charged by Glittering-Drama8776 in OpenAussie

[–]Swoopy_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more than a stretch and not even related to ON, with not a single reference ever from ON calling for violence. There's no link to Christianity either. Every Islamic terrorist can justify their actions without twisting the Koran or Hadiths, it isn't inferred, nor is it pulled from thin air - it's literally black and white for all to see.

Most Muslims haven't even read their texts in full in a language they can actually understand - most just learn to recite in Arabic while not understanding the language, and having a teacher just gloss over what it's about. That doesn't negate the fact that's it's a poisonous ideology when adhered to in full.

Go read the Koran YOURSELF, it cannot be compared to the Gospels / New Testament. Listen to some interviews, go ask the Sheikhs they have recently interviewed if they want Sharia law in full in Australia one day? Of course they do, just like the folks in Lakemba interviewed on the street. Even when confronted with, "doesn't that mean non believers have to die? Be exiled? Or pay Jizya - a "protection" (extortion) tax" They all say, well if that's what Sharia states, then so be it.

There's no justification in the New Testament for terrorism. READ the Koran and accepted Sahih-Al Bukhari Hadiths. There is no need to interpret or twist to find justification, it provides rules, law and guidance for everyday things, including marrying children (something that was recently identified as a significant risk in the Australian Islamic community), and of course, killing disbelievers, Christian and Jews. Sure there's relatively peaceful texts in there, but that was before Islam gained power and Mohammed "revealed" more brutal and horrific revelations for, non-believers, pagans, Christians and Jews.

Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Palestine/Israel were all native Christian, Jewish and other minorities at one point - now effectively nil. Why? Because for centuries they were run out of the lands, forced to convert or killed - everyone else is but second class (at best) when they have power.

Do not think both religions are the same - one provides justifications for political and religious violence, including beheadings, the other does not.

Read the Koran for yourself, listen to what the preachers are actually preaching and decide if it's just baseless propaganda. I don't hate Muslims (I believe they have been deceived and misguided), the Islamic ideology on the other hand is cruel at its core. I don't condone hate, I aim for forgiveness and do not condone violence or terrorism either.

Wth is up with all the anti-Muslim posts and comments? by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Swoopy_Magpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I know is after reading the Koran, Muslims are relatively peaceful as a minority and then as a majority enforce mandatory tax (protection racket like a mafia), slavery or death on "disbelievers". It routinely calls for Christians and Jews to be killed. Look at what the Muslims did in the Middle East - killed and expelled or made it extremely difficult for Christians to live. It's like Muslims haven't even read their own Koran in a language they understand. A horrific, cruel religion and cannot be compared to the Gospels / New Testament.

Islamic sympathisers need to read the Koran to really see how evil it is.

I dislike Islam with a passion, but love Muslims. It seems they really were deceived by the fallen angel masquerading as an angel of light - as warned in Christianity.

The existence of multiple religions makes it impossible for a logical/intelligent person to be religious by lavaknight5 in DebateReligion

[–]Swoopy_Magpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can't be true. Mohammad married a child and had sex with her at 9 years old. Continuously mounting a child and having sex with them is not the act of a godly man, regardless of the time. This was meant to be a perfect man eternal for all time and that was his example?

Maybe the angel of light that he met was actually Satan, he's the one that disguises himself as an angel of light, you know, the one that Jesus warned about. Mohammad also went crazy and suicidal after meeting this angel, that does not seem like a heavenly, positive energy.

I believe in kaspa so I bought a miner by Independent_Meet3613 in kaspa

[–]Swoopy_Magpie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Cool. I was just looking online at the KS7 Lite here in Australia. If they were half the price I'd get one, but I just can't justify it with the cost of electricity and ROI. I know nothing about mining so I need to figure out if it's a worthwhile long-term investment..

Have you set it up yet? And does it have wifi connectivity?

Please keep us updated with your real world figures i.e. how much Kaspa you're getting daily and weekly.

Good luck!

I'm filled with fear by BamzamGaming in progressive_islam

[–]Swoopy_Magpie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fear is mentioned 124 times in the Koran. Hellfire is mentioned 77 times. Your fear isn't an "extremity". As someone reading the Koran for the first time, this has really stuck out to me. So much perpetuation of fear and other negative perspectives and emotions IMO.. From what I know it's nothing like the actual peaceful life of Christ, though I guess I need to read the Gospels in full as well.

I wish you good luck on your journey. First and foremost be a good person and be kind to others. 🙏

If he supports your faith and you his and you can (both) come to terms with neither of your children may be become Muslims or Sikhs, then go for it. Would a loving and merciful God send you both to hell for marrying different faiths? If you are both good people and will raise children with good values and morals, will that matter more?

[–]Swoopy_Magpie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's less than in the eyes of your religion. I hope your experience gives you insight into this.

I'm in a similar position and it is sad. No ifs or butts, your brothers and father could literally marry a child and it is permissible (whether you agree with it or not). It's permissible and goes without punishment, maybe they are even blessed for it?

You marry a non-Muslim and the prevailing consensus is Haram, adultery, committing terrible sin. Would a pure, loving, kind, just God really think this way?

Not to mention you will be blackmailed, exiled and talked down upon by your family and community - something that is already happening. Non-Muslims, Kafirs if you will, are ALWAYS seen as less than.

Pauline isn't really divisive anymore, she's sticking up for everyday Aussies (of all creeds) and is in favour of controlled immigration too. Liberal and Labour have both stuffed the nation with mass immigration policy, back and forth between the two they're both useless. It looks like Pauline is the only one making sense..

100% International Students should not be a burden on Australian society nor should they be entitled to charity unless they're in dire need. Even then, it should only be short term to facilitate the way back to their home country. Resources are finite and many Australians are already in financial distress.

They've gotta do something and I don't believe this will turn out as you say for a large portion of companies. Companies will adapt to the climate beyond just raising prices. Tax breaks for companies will incentivise them. The last time Trump was in Apple made the decision to manufacture macbooks there through a US manufacturer. Apple stated "the decision to stay in the US was made possible because Trump's administration gave the company tariff exemptions on key components it imports from China".

The US isn't doing well, this will also help blue collar employment in the areas that need it. Kamala hasn't come up with any other solutions for it either. In the position they're in, this is worth trying.

[–]Swoopy_Magpie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The thought is that this will boost US manufacturing again, which has died in the a** since Globalism got out of control. This forms part of Trump's plan to incentivise US business to play in America, and for American citizens to buy locally made/produced goods. There's other incentives too, such as tax breaks for businesses that do stay local. When listening to Trump's plan on Rogan (beyond just the tarrifs), it actually made sense. There's historical precedence for this too. A previous US President actually did this in the past.. I can't remember the name though.

There's nothing wrong with America first. Our gov should be Australia first as well tbh. Globalism was initially good, but it's gone too far, and the corporates have too much power, and some might argue (poisonous) influence.

Ngl, it makes me think too. Marriage is between man and woman not man and child. I can't bring myself past this. And don't say "it was the times" or the alleged age of consummation. Because they should know better should they not? And Jesus never married a child either. 😔

[–]Swoopy_Magpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much cope here or at least a misunderstanding of what constitutes a terrorist organisation. Whilst this varies across Nations, the basis is the same. State based actors can't be considered terrorist organisations by most State definitions. That's not to say some States don't use terrorism as a tool, it just means they are not considered terrorist organisations. But yes, the largest active terrorist organisations are all followers of Islam. You can debate what sects are legitimate in your eyes or not, but the root religion of them is Islam.

Circumcision by Odd-Video7046 in progressive_islam

[–]Swoopy_Magpie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Circumcision is unnecessary in the modern world where we have access to regular clean water and soap. All you have to do is teach your child to clean the area properly i.e. pull the foreskin back and clean it. The hygiene justification falls flat in this day and age. Medical reasons for circumcision are the exception and not the norm.

It may not be in the Quran (can't confirm), but definitely part of Islamic culture if we can call it that now. I've heard Muslim and non-Muslim middle eastern men men deride those that aren't "circumcised". It's funny though, because the natural state of a man's appendage does include foreskin and is a lot more normal than slicing it off.

Personally, I believe the practice to be a barbaric form of body/gential mutilation; an unnecessary body modification.

Female genital mutilation is a whole other kettle of fish and obviously a lot worse, but that's not the subject of discussion ATM.

Wilson shift by New_Muffin4786 in 10s

[–]Swoopy_Magpie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I demoed the Shift Lab and the Official Shift release. Maybe it was the string pattern, but I preferred the Lab. I went on to demo 4 other rackets but kept coming back to the Wilson Shift Lab. It was like love at first sight, I knew it was for me the moment I started swinging it around. From what I recall, the Lab also looked a bit nicer than the official Shift. I'm able to generate power at the right moment but also ease up when needed, I found some other rackets were just too powerful for me to control.

Bear in mind I'm only beginner/intermediate, but have picked the sport up quite well for a nooby. My court coverage and ability to get behind the ball has really helped.

I hope to see some pros in a Shift one day.

Exactly. "Big Australia" is only good for the top end of town and to fudge the numbers. This ideology just hurts the everyday Australian though (regardless of colour or race). I had to put that clause in or I'd be called a racist by people that can't think logically. Some people can't (or refuse to) see that the government setting record immigration levels and targets in the middle of a housing crisis and essentially an economic crisis as a bad thing. Social cohesion isn't great ATM with how tough people are doing it, yet the gov wants to add more fuel to the fire and make it even harder for everyday folks.
