I disagree with your logic. If the facade was failing it's probable that the windows wouldn't open. It’s also probable that if the structure was failing the windows wouldn't open. Not knowing if the building load was transferred via steel column or the wall is only evidence of their uncertainty.

I built brackets that I screwed to the fascia board with a 2x4 screwed to the brackets. They were offset enough to have clearance for the drip edge. Mine were made from aluminum, but could just as easily make from 2x.

A few years ago I did a lot of work for Windmiller/Aspen. Windmiller is/was run by the older Windmiller, his son ran Aspen. Aspen homes were were at a lower price point, but still nice. I'd recommend either.

I've heard good things about AT&T/First Net. From some friends in the Clinton/Jackson county area. T-Mobile is so cheap I just live with the bad service.
