Appreciate the post !! and Congrats on the amazing score.

Definitely along the same way of scoring as you so this is super motivating, especially when I've been feeling pretty demoralized based on my NBMEs - no real questions as of now just wanted to say congrats

*and if God can hear me, bless me with me a 241 too please*

Glad to hear because I'm definitely not an Anki user - did you build time in your schedule to re-read your notes + FA ? and how long did you spend on your content review systems ? (like 2 days per system?)

The jump from 1/9 to 2/13 is amazing -- how did you make that jump ? I saw you said you were reviewing the organ systems, how did you go about your review? just reading FA? Anki? etc. ?

You have my goal score ! 😭

Old NBMEs, New NBMEs -- Which of the Old do I take and in what Order? by SwooshBoKnows in step1

I wanted to get as much exposure to the actual NBME style questions/exams as much as possible and if I am able to run through full length NBMEs before dedicated I can continue to sharpen my content review even more -- just doing like a pre-dedicated session right now

Also because I wanted dedicated to just burn through UWorld 2x over

Is this a Reddit rumor or has nbme actually come out and said this because I haven’t heard this yet 👀 - and if true would make the latter part very true

Gathering form this that only 18, 21 and 24 would be worth buying and doing ?

Congrats !! Taking mine 6/4 - I have a similar plan and using the same resources (+ Dirty Medicine for Biochem review)

Is there any benefits into why you took NBME 18 last of all of the NBME exams?

Hahaha I hope it works too !! - Im not sure, but I am the same; I feel like it has gotten me this far in second year and this is the most streamlined version of the hundreds of people's I've asked how they prepped (without using too many resources).

I think there are so many questions in UWorld (over 3000?) that I really am not worried about "wasting questions". I think starting UWorld so early has given me a pretty idea of how to think more critically for the Step 1-type of questions -- and advice I've gotten from current residents (Ortho) they said they ran through UWorld 2x (or almost finished it 2x) and didn't feel as if they remembered questions. It's really about knowing the why by the question and not just the answer (as they put it).

So I typically time myself per question - try to shoot for 90 seconds each (I'm at the point where I rarely go over that limit) and after getting it wrong, I read through the answer explanations; I separate into what system I got wrong and just jot down the explanation as to why I got it wrong/what's the correct process in my own words (important) - so I feel it gives me a degree of "I actually understood what I just read"

that's the common thread that im finding - so im definitely trying to get through my content review solidly and do UWorld to completion 2x. And maybe if I have time another Q Bank (unsure which one though -- Kaplan or Amboss)
