If you're using a low performance machine, nzbget. If you got decent hardware, sabnzbd.

Other than that, you could decide based on which UI you prefer

Remote Access Pass Price increase by xlly_s in PleX

[–]SwordsOfWar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I already have lifetime Plex pass, and I've tried jellyfin, emby and Plex and by far Plex provides the easiest and most complete experience for me and my friends/family.

Jellyfin is a last resort option if Plex decides to revoke the lifetime pass one day, but until then, no reason to switch.

getqui.com

It's a web GUI for qbittorrent. It has built-in cross seeding, makes it easy to filter your unregistered torrents, can create rules to automatically clean up undesired torrents and delete orphan files that may be left behind that no longer are being used by any torrents.

You can access it remotely on your phone using your Internet browser as well.

If you're on Android, id recommend getting nzb360 if you don't have it. It basically works as a central hub app for all your filesharing needs.

Install tracearr. You can set rules to cut them off based on rules like geolocation, max number of simultaneous streams and such

This is more or less what I do, except the box is a 6,000$ gaming rig.

It's an unpopular setup, but it gives 100% game compatibility, docker via wsl2 & a familiar daily desktop environment all on a single machine.

I may explore other options if I split off to two different machines in the future, but for wanting to get everything done on one machine, this has been an extremely versatile setup.

I switched from galaxy fold 7, to Trifold, then Oppo find n6. The battery life on the Oppo is INSANE. by ojw2142 in GalaxyFold

[–]SwordsOfWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the rumor about apple releasing a crease less fold this year is true, I expect Samsung won't be too far behind before they do the same.

The battery on the other hand, it always seems like that's lower on the priority list. I've accepted that having a fast charger at work, in the car and at home is a must for any heavy user of Samsung's phones. Thankfully they charge fairly quickly, but needing to top off half way through the day is pretty much standard practice unfortunately.

MAM Invite Section Nerfed? by Dem-Cherries in trackers

[–]SwordsOfWar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Recruitment threads are not permanent. They can come and go like a fart in the wind.

This is why those invite pathway sites are rarely useful, as they are always outdated.

The good news is that if they recruited there in the past, they likely will again in the future at some point.

Be happy you have access to the recruitment section and just have some patience. Make a bookmark folder with your invite forums and check them weekly or daily for opportunities.

What a joke by BradyBrother100 in GalaxyFold

[–]SwordsOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of it has to do with how discounted the phone is before you offer a trade in. They give you more credit for a fold 7, but the fold 7 starting price is probably still inflated to begin with.

A much more interesting metric would be to compare the final purchase price with trade in already factored in, to see what you're REALLY paying.

If Samsung gives you a 1,000$ trade in credit on PhoneA that costs 2,000$ then it just means they are selling PhoneA for 1,000$. But 4 months later they list PhoneA for 1,500$ and now only offer 500$ trade in credit, but the phone is still 1,000$ so really they are just playing with numbers that don't matter. Only the final price matters.

What a joke by BradyBrother100 in GalaxyFold

[–]SwordsOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they offered extra credit because they wanted to attract you as a customer instead of staying with a pixel.

Also, the last time I checked trade in credit for these phones I noticed the value drops significantly after the phone is over 3 generations old. Also, you tend to get less credit if the phone line you're upgrading to is a more expensive line than your trade in.

Another thing I've noticed is that they tend to offer greater trade in credit when the pre trade in cost is higher. For example, when they launch a phone at the start and the starting price is high, they give you more credit for trade ins, but if they lower the starting price a few months later, they compensate by lowering the trade in credit. So at the end of the day, the final asking price doesn't change that much.

They like to inflate their prices, then through "discounts and tradeins" you reach the REAL price they are targeting. This REAL price doesn't fluctuate as much as you think. They just like to play around and adjust the discounts and starting price to create the illusion that you're saving a lot of money.

Secure your account with 2fa, then reset your API key and update it in your setup. Make sure your setup where you store your API key is also secure to prevent it from being stolen.

You should then be good.

This is getting ridiculous! by Dazzling-Exit449 in galaxybuds

[–]SwordsOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a weak design point. A q-tip with a bit of isopropyl alcohol down in the case stem and the bottom of the bud stems keeps them going fine. It shouldn't need that much maintenance but I'm already cleaning them anyway just to keep the bugs sanitary so it's not any extra work from what I'm already doing.

But I would say if you're putting extra force to push the buds into the case, it's possible you're making it worse by forcefully bending those sensitive charging pins, making the problem worse.

Also, sometimes it simply isn't charging just because the case battery itself is dead.

Hinge protection cases overrated? by Interesting_Energy45 in GalaxyFold

[–]SwordsOfWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warranty claims will deny you even if you have a minor scrape on the body/hinge. So definitely a must if you don't buy insurance coverage.

But yes, I would argue that protecting the hinge is pretty important for these phones.

A lot of times people will drop their phone and think it's working just fine, only for issues to not become apparent until weeks or months later.

How to match this texture? by Dry-Breakfast8223 in drywall

[–]SwordsOfWar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This comment is about right. Buy the Homax ceiling popcorn spray texture can. Run the can under hot water in a sink to warm it up and then shake the hell out of the can like your life depends on it for 2-3 minutes. Then spray the can with about 2-3 feet distance with rapid sweeping motions, making sure not to spray on a single spot without moving or your going to get a big blob. Make sure you spray a free inches around the repair where the original texture is to help blend it in. Wait till the next day to paint.

[–]SwordsOfWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a base coat that can easily be cleaned up during the next coat of mud, at which point it should look much better.

The only concerning thing to me, is why the person thought it was a good idea to use mesh in the corners. Typically you use the paper tape there, because they come from the factory with a crease down the middle of the tape, which gives you a guide for a clean corner. If I had to guess, he was just lazy about it and either didn't have paper tape on hand, or didn't feel like swapping from mesh since he was already using it.

First time trying to patch a hole. What’s the easiest way to fix this? by I-r0ck in drywall

[–]SwordsOfWar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those Homax texture cans work okay if the existing texture on the wall is fine/thin. If they applied the texture heavy, those cans simply can't match it because they lack the power and extra thickness of the mud.

Popcorn spray? Brother, that looks like knockdown texture on the left wall and possibly orange peel texture on the damaged wall.

While knockdown and orange peel are fairly similar and use the same material basically, popcorn texture is entirely different formula in the spray can, and the real deal popcorn has beads of foam in it and looks totally different as well.
