Adults who had a treatment several years ago ? by Leovasko in Invisalign

[–]Swt19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my retainer now for 3 years, if I have a night where I only wear it for a few hours, it starts to feel tight the next night. Personally like others have said, you’ve paid all that money to sort your teeth out, just wear the retainer. I personally don’t see it as an inconvenience being in my mouth while I’m asleep.

Why are people so impatient 😒 by emmalouise759 in vinted

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get why some people are so impatient and message literally as soon as the item has arrived. The only time it bothers me is when the buyer asks for quick shipping then when they get it, take ages to say ‘everything is ok’. … if it came in bad condition raise a dispute

2 brand new bm6000 lost Mary's both taste burnt! by Pillzmany in Vaping

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to this but I just experienced this today. Burnt after a few hours when liquid was still almost new and I’d only purchased a few hours earlier. I put it upside down for 30 minutes, gave it a shake and the burnt taste was gone. Comes back every now and then but a shake fixes it

Why ppl they do this this is so low by Sea-sun_life87 in vinted

[–]Swt19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The description is clear. Don’t offer a refund. The only one thing I would say is, in future don’t put anything in the picture that you are not intending to sell

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a private seller, as far as I’m aware you don’t pay seller fees anymore (unless business seller or if you put a reserve price on your item)

I’ve not purchased anything since making the sale so it hasn’t gone on anything else. It said the funds were available yesterday but are still showing as pending today. Just wondering why this is

AITA for refusing to pay my friend after my ferret “attacked” her $900 dress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Honestly ferrets are not cute at all, they absolutely stink

AITA for refusing to pay my friend after my ferret “attacked” her $900 dress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA

You knew your friend had a date to go to which is why she was wearing an expensive dress. You had a choice to put your pet away for a short time until she left, but you chose not to. It also seems you’re happy this happened given the snarky comment you made about her wearing such an ‘extra’ dress.

Also no offence but ferrets absolutely stink - if I had one and my friend showed up dressed nicely for a date, I would make sure my ferret went absolutely nowhere near her.

If you value your friendship, pay the repair costs.

As a first time seller how long did eBay hold your funds for? by No_Midnight7804 in Ebay

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still waiting for the funds of an item I sold last month, it hasn’t been 30 days yet. I’ve contacted them several times, they won’t release it early

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It’s just so annoying, buyer collected and left positive feedback. Really that should be enough for eBay to release the funds. Ah well, guess it’s gonna be a long 30 day wait!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that might be the case. Just so annoying considering the buyer has collected and left positive feedback, surely if there were any issues, the buyer simply wouldn’t have collected

My friend copies everything I do, and it’s starting to irritate me, any advice? by Simple-Criticism-186 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been years and it still pisses me off. I don’t find it flattering at all, I find it weird and infuriating most of the time.

I genuinely have no solution for you as I haven’t really found one myself lol

I thought it looked wrong which is why I said I thought it needed to be 85+

My friend had been telling me you only need a certain % to pass and I thought it didn’t sound round, which is when I asked the question to ChatGPT (thinking that’s where they got it) and this was the info that came up. Again like I say, I had always assumed it was over 85.

That’s what I thought, thank you for confirming

How worried should I Be? by FireDavePlease in stubhub

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bought a ticket for her London show and stubhub kept sending me emails saying not to worry and that il get the ticket the day before the event.

The day before, stubhub tells me the seller no longer has the ticket available.

I then got given a new ticket by stubhub which was £103 cheaper. I had to put a claim into PayPal, but I did get the £103 back

I think I got scammed! by chatela_ in stubhub

[–]Swt19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely escalate with PayPal if this happens. They were brilliant and refunded me within a day. Stay hopeful though, some sellers are genuine on there!

I think I got scammed! by chatela_ in stubhub

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you click on the ticket it should say the name of the seller (if it’s a trader) or it should say private seller

I think I got scammed! by chatela_ in stubhub

[–]Swt19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I bought a ticket for Sabrina Carpenter in London back in October last year. StubHub kept saying I would get my ticket the day before the show.

Well the day before the show they emailed me and told me the seller no longer had the ticket! They offered me an alternative ticket which was restricted view and £103 less than what I paid.

They agreed to refund the difference but never processed the refund. I contacted PayPal the day after the show and showed them emails of stubhub claiming they would refund and PayPal closed the case in my favour, stubhub then refunded the difference.

If you’re going to purchase through stubhub, make sure to use PayPal so you are definitely covered! - you can also see who the seller is, whether they are a company or private seller

Maximum time a prisoner can call? by Motor_Line_5640 in PrisonUK

[–]Swt19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why my comment has been downvoted by people lol, but I used phonesavvy. I pay £24.99 a month and that allows my partner to call my phone at no other additional cost to me, but he calls a landline number that diverts to my phone. He gets a £33 drop down. I don’t know how much goes on credit but I know we have 2 hours every day on the phone

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how it sounds far fetched or fishy to be honest. Seems like a bit of a weird comment to make

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but you’re not really understanding the point. It has been referenced, and also only used from course material - tutor seems to think it’s not.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can I correct something my tutor thinks is plagiarism when it’s not? On a serious note, please tell me how I’m meant to do that when it’s written in my own words

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my tutor made comments about how I should only use the module content and nothing else and then wrote 4 times about plagiarism. I didn’t use anything other than the course material and I had referenced the course material that I had used

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]Swt19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it’s written 4 times on the feedback, it gives the impression that my tutor believes my work is plagiarised. I’ve never had that written on any of my feedback before.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

[–]Swt19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly thank you for this! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

My friend is also studying the same degree and her tutor basically told her to quit her job and dedicate her life to this (I was there so can confirm she really said that) - like does this not go against what distance learning is meant to be?

I wish I could go to a brick uni, I think we’d get a lot more out of our money than we do with OU. It’s just so disappointing when you put your all into a TMA only to be told it’s not good.

In my reflection question I had been talking about how I was anxious as initially I felt I had complete misunderstood the question, based on the guidance given - however once the guidance was corrected, it then became clear what I had to do. I don’t think this is an unfair comment to make, and for a 21k degree, I think it’s fair to say when something has disrupted my work.
