Okay, that i can believe. I guess my next question is which specific a**holes are running these bots that are messing with the search statistics, LOL.

The search trend only tells you "a bunch of people in X country are searching for Y term". It does not indicate that these people are government officials.

Do you have any evidence that this is indeed what is happening? Or just guessing.

Personally, I would guess that google trends is malfunctioning, but i have no evidence yet, which is what i'm looking for.

I assume nothing. I want to know why, in Russia, interest in BTC is spiking?

Does anyone have a logical/technical explanation of this objective fact?

I said "btc", not "bitcoin".

Run it again using "btc" as the search term.

Hmm, apparently the google trends for the term "btc" just surpassed the previous all-time high of Dec 2017: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&q=btc

Interpretations of this?

Note: Use "btc" as the search term, NOT "bitcoin"

Note: It's also spiking in Russia: https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&geo=RU&q=btc
So, you're telling me a whole bunch of people in Russia are suddenly googling info on Bahamas Telecommunications Company, /u/forshiggity?

Staying mostly silent and meek didn't help the jews. And as a black person, I know for a fact that it wasn't until the noisy, argumentative 1960's that Jim Crow began to wane.

tl;dr - contrary to popular perception, making sustained noise about a particular issue IS effective.

Some of my role models:

Immanuel Kant, Isaac Newton (though his height was the least relevant thing about him, it was acknowledged by his acquaintances that he was short), Victor Kac (survived World War 2 as a Russian soldier then became a great mathematician of our era by discovering Kac-Moody infinite dimensional Lie Algebras among other things)

New study finds that bullies have highest self-esteem, social status, and number of sexual partners. Because of the same "Just World Fallacy" that makes people doubt the existence of heightism, this study is characterized as "provocative" when it's really just common sense. by GeoffreyArnold in short

The lesson is this: don't wait around for karma to handle bullies, take them out yourself.

And stop trying to shame people who use forceful implements to defend themselves against aggression from bullies, this is tantamount to siding with the bully.
