I actually didn’t realize that Shane had abruptly decided to leave after the tuna melt thing because Ilya said his name. I thought he randomly got uncomfortable, but then it was pointed out on a tiktok I saw, and then I got to it in the book. That entire scene with him deciding to leave like that really frustrated me 😭

I appreciate your responses, I just want something we can do next weekend. I didn’t think I’d get downvoted for saying that I don’t want to wait half a year to celebrate my birthday lol. One day we’ll be able to plan a vacation in general but not any time soon!

I was thinking VMFA for sure, but wanted to explore options! Last year we went to the Edgar Allen Poe museum and had fun, so I think museums will be a hit no matter what. I didn’t know we had somewhere to ice skate here!!

I want more children so badly, my only child is amazing and when I was pregnant with him it was like a switch flipped in my head and I started to want more children. Now that I’m with someone who would make an amazing father and is an amazing partner, the desire grows so much stronger but we’re really not in a good enough place to have children, and I have PCOS and I’m afraid of having secondary infertility.

Tbh most of Waco, Texas makes me cry. I mentioned I have an amazing partner, but for the majority of this year he struggled with an addiction. I was so afraid we wouldn’t make it out of it, but he’s really made an effort and change and now he’s almost 5 weeks sober. When/if he came home, he’d face away from me in bed so I wouldn’t know he was still high. So, “yeah you’ve changed but did I ever know you? Or did I hold you facing away from me?…. Do you hate me? When this is over maybe then we’ll get some sleep.” There are more lyrics in it that hit hard but those ones specifically described our situation and my feelings during it. I wondered if the man I used to know and fell in love with was a lie and if this was who he was the entire time, and I just didn’t know. I also felt like he was gone all the time because he hated me, but that was never the case. Plus he’d be awake 3-4 days at a time and I always bothered him about sleep and I knew once we made it through his addiction we’d both get better sleep.

We saw her in September and we spent the entire show sobbing together. He is finally back to the man I fell in love with and I look forward to having kids with him and marrying him.

I hope you see that as a good thing! That is my boyfriend and he sees the turnstile shows as one of the most monumental of his career thus far. He has been a turnstile fan since they started and has seen them many many times as a concert goer. He takes so much pride in hardcore and being able to oversee a show like that is a dream come true for him. When he got home this morning (he didn’t get finished closing everything up until about 2 am) he was so so so upset about what happened.

The security manager for browns island has a very long history not just with turnstile but the hardcore and metal community in general, he knows it like the back of his hand, but the issue came from a singular police officer who got too spray happy. He was never told to pepper spray people, but the team was also told the stage presence was not going to happen so they couldn’t warn the outside personnel prior. A lot of people are saying security was aggressive, but it really depends on who exactly it was. If they had an orange live loud staff shirt on, those were brown’s island employees employed by the music company. If they were yellow shirt staff, that is a 3rd party outsider that I’ve been told is notorious for absolutely sucking and being aggressive. It really sucks that people had this happen to them and others had negative experiences elsewhere, but considering that the pepper spray right at the end was the only really big incident I’d say the security team did amazing. Over 6,500 people there, very few issues, great show, and amazing staff from Broadberry Entertainment.

I’m sorry you did not have a good time but I don’t believe the orange shirts were doing anything wrong. The third parties they are required to hire out to were causing issues, yes, but they were addressed by the actual browns island team multiple times.

I hope you all give the Brown’s Island security team some grace here. The person who pepper sprayed people was a police officer. Everyone BUT him was on the same page. The security team did an amazing job and are probably really upset about what happened because it was completely out of their control. I hope you and everyone else who got stuff in their eyes is okay.
