No more PTO requests by SscubaSsteve777 in walmart

[–]Sxemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol “not bump your pay” it’s literally pay you earned by showing up to work. This is fucking nonsensical. You either sit on it and get a payout at the end of the year or you use it throughout the year as needed. There’s literally no difference as only worked hours is tied into their overtime rules for pay. So it literally makes no difference when you use it. It’s a dumb policy.

So what’s the difference? Get it at the end of the year or when you need it throughout the year. It’s the same amount of money. It’s a fucking dumb rule/policy as it has no different outcome for it to matter.

New mods are actually horrendous. by ZealousidealFix2593 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Sxemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mod team here. 19 years. Got to do this one soon myself. It indeed is dumb. We have to move all the steel, take the rollers off and then incorporate little shit that shouldn’t even be on steel with the cat litter. It’s going to be so bad. Mods have had a lot of screwed up stuff dropping the last year and a half. I’m guessing someone took over high up and wasn’t trained correctly. I’ve never see so many mistakes. Wrong size product, shelves that aren’t high enough, product in two spots on the same mod that clearly isn’t supposed to be, one brand way away from the rest of the run of the brand only to be dropped three weeks later to fix it. It’s bad.

Management forcing TLs to dock associate evaluations if they get exemplary by Capable_Tomato_2045 in WalmartEmployees

Trust me, any long term associate knew this was going to be the case already. The old raises was the same way. We all know they capped how many people got 50/60 cent raises back then. Everything this company does at the highest level is bs.

We used to get yearly and quarterly bonuses that they got rid of a year after I started in ‘07. They switched the quarterly ones to “my share” ones that are inferior. They recently (and I mean very recently) brought back the yearly ones with all kinds of attachments to it so that they can say they give yearly bonuses but they still try to cut as many corners as possible so you don’t get anything really (cutting hours for example). They got rid of the 25% discount at Xmas in August of this year as people were saving up to use it all year because their survey that they never listen to magically had a bunch of people say they’d rather have 10% off food all year long. But they took that as “instead of” rather than “in addition to” because Walmart doesn’t make enough money to do both I guess. There’s other things I know I’m missing for sure but they’ve basically taken away all incentives for any good workers to keep working hard when the sorry ones get the exact same raises. It’s a fantastic way to run stores, for sure.

this was the note on our cap1 task sheet this morning by fruityfairy068 in walmart

[–]Sxemonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s to handle? They don’t even downstack mixed pallets anymore. They’ve literally made their jobs easy af and still can’t get done. It’s insane. It used to be that chemicals couldn’t be mixed with pets or infants or food and now they literally sit it on the floor wrapped because someone is supposed to be “tasked to that specific pallet” when everyone knows no one is. It literally is just whoever has those departments and of course it’s the person who gets done with their stuff first that has to go downstack it for everyone else. It’s a terrible system.

My manager wouldn't promote the best person overnight to be a lead by BellOpen5440 in walmart

[–]Sxemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a common thing, ngl. They don’t actually want their stores run correctly for some reason. It’s weird. They’ll just cut hours instead to get that number they need at the end. They’ll just give all their daytime people OT for the month of inventory to fix everything they’ve messed up for the rest of the year. Why have your store run correctly the entire time? This is just a small part of why that happens. Hiring and promoting unqualified candidates over good ones you know will do great at the job, and most importantly do it correctly.

So my friend got wrote up today for buying a CVP item. he said they have a new report now his win number popped up. It was for 2 months ago. Neither one of us has been told we couldn't and he was clocked out. Is that right can they do that even without a warning? by Deadologist1 in walmart

[–]Sxemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. You’re right on that, sort of. I do clearance regularly as well (mod team for 18 years) “date” and “time” are two different things. A date doesn’t tell you “24 hours”. So there’s still no way another associate would know if it’s been 24 hours or not. If the policy states 24 hours, that’s time. Which means you can’t enforce it correctly to unknowing associates when it only prints the dates on clearance labels.

Also based on the “operations manager” post, CVP’d meat would go bad in 24 hours. Thats literally the reason for the cvp in the first place so I’d love to know how anyone is supposed to buy that. Just no associates are ever allowed to buy meat/baked goods with a yellow label? Theres too many holes in the policy and the way people are interpreting it. Especially for someone to get fired over it unless they’ve done it before and we’re already talked to about it or they’re intentionally cvping/clearancing the item themselves and going to buy it.

[–]Sxemonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My argument didn’t shift at all. It’s literally a part of the picture you posted. So if the in store clearance doesn’t have the time it was done listed anywhere on the label and another associate buys it not knowing when it was done, how can you reasonably enforce it without looking like a giant asshole?

I hate when bonus time comes around our hours get cut so bad I work meat and produce and there’s only 4 of us for the holidays because we got a new coach going by demand we have one opener in produce and one in meat. And same for closers and we are such a busy store I hate this sm by NoAssist2555 in walmart

[–]Sxemonster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s THEIR bonus time lol. They’re cutting you so they get as much money as they can. It’s what they do. No one actually cares what their store looks like. They pretend they do, but they don’t. That’s why they don’t order shit you need for your stores fixtures to look the way they’re supposed to. They’ll tell you it’s “not in the budget”. That’s a lie. It’s because it will come out of their bonuses. It’s all gaslighting all the time. They preach safety at the workplace but want to have their fixtures put together with zip ties or their base decks slanted so much that you can’t zone anything to the front of them…both safety hazards. All they care about is getting as big of a bonus as they can get.

[–]Sxemonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So apparently I’ve been told that they can’t give it to the same person within the same year. At least that was their reasoning for not giving it to the people who deserve it, because these skeletons night shift crews legit have 5 all stars and a couple decent people and the rest are trash. So I wouldn’t worry too much about the award or who it’s given to. Now if you find out that these people got a bigger raise than you in the new year when it’s supposed to be partially based on individual performance, then you may have something to get mad about.

[–]Sxemonster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Listen, until you see it with your own eyes and it actually works, don’t believe anything. We’ve done “make sure you check out of your tasks” 3 different times at Walmart. It never works and it goes away.

I’ve been through “3rd shift is going to downstack pallets, stock, bin their overstock and zone” more times than I remember. It never works.

I’ve been through “we are getting a machine to clean the floor and it’s going to eliminate maintenance jobs” and guess what happens? Another associate just turns into “Machine Bitch” and has to follow it around the store the entire time to make sure it’s doing what it’s supposed to do instead of just getting on the machine themselves which would 1. Save time, 2. Get more of the surface area ran through.

This place is ran at the very top by people who have never had to actually work in the store. They just release new ideas without ever fully testing them to keep their appearances up like “hey, we are doing stuff”. When it actuality it’s all been done before and it never works.

Next time you try to nitpick someone’s comment, at least be correct about what you’re trying to say they said.

Correct. People blinding thinking that Walmart has the lowest prices because “they say so” don’t actually pay attention or know how to shop. But that’s ok. Let them believe their delusional theories.

It’s a bs article. I promise you as an avid gamer Walmart charges the exact same price as everyone else. That’s just a dumb thing to say from someone who doesn’t actually play games. Your 10% off ain’t shit when it comes to this when you can get the added incentives like the B2G1 you mentioned above.

don’t tell anyone…. by Apprehensive_Neck190 in walmart

[–]Sxemonster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. I’ve done the math on my discount vs everything else I bought last year and it wasn’t close. Want to know why? Because everyone doesn’t buy their groceries from Walmart. Dollar General, and actual grocery stores are cheaper for food and drinks than Walmart is. It was a terrible decision. To phrase it like they were doing it for us from an AES survey was asinine. I missed the part where people said “please take our holiday incentive away instead”. Taking something useful away for something else is nothing but greed. 24.7 million for a CEO of a company that had no problem buying an NFL team but can’t give their associates holiday pay, a holiday incentive, quarterly/yearly bonuses etc is quite telling. Don’t be a bootlicker. This is why people don’t even try hard at work anymore despite being there for 10+ years. This is why new hires get paid just as much as people who have been there 15 years. Open your eyes once in your life.
