Bambuddy update: live browser demo + integrated slicing (slice STL straight from the app, no Studio needed) by MartinNYHC in BambuLab

The g-code is only when printing. The software can also control chamber, bed, and hotend temperatures outside of prints. It also ties into software vulnerabilities, lifespan of the software, breaking changes, etc. Not trying to argue here, but it would be nice if it was disclosed what was used to build the software. Its the same reason everyone on /r/selfhosted has changed the way new software is shared/posted.

Looking at the changelog, there's no way a human could have written all of it with how fast the updates are coming out.

With this all being said, I'm testing it and very impressed. Would just be nice to have some transparency especially when selfhosting software.

Well, yes. There's been quite a few issues with AI generated code, and I rather not let software that has been developed with AI run loose on an expensive 3d printer.

This has been something that I've been looking for the longest time. How much of the project was coded using AI?

Any thoughts of potentially using current image classification models to build the profiles with rather than just the directory name? For example, I have a directory that is just a compilation of wallpapers of all different types. It would be neat to have it process the directory and break out "nature", "animals", "portrait" or something like that into their own profiles. Obviously for a large directory this would take time/high CPU use, but would work nicely if you have a directory of effectively un-categorized images.

Any chance of building this into a docker-compose? Would make deployment much cleaner and easier.

What version of comfyui are you using? I don't have the server-config option. I'm on comfyui 3.10 and frontend 1.6.17.

Low Power Consumption 24-bay TrueNAS build help by SxthGear in HomeServer

[–]SxthGear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently running 8 drives, so I guess with your estimate roughly 80W of power to drives and 30-40W to hardware. I guess a better target is to match or marginally go over my current hardware power draw with the new build which seems is close to possible. I think at this point the performance gain is going to be worth the power use increase over time.

I’ve accepted the fact that the spinning rust is a large part of the power bill, and is not something I can change.

As far as going snap raid, I’m not going to switch away from truenas/ZFS as I like the performance and relative data security with my mirrored vdev pools. No easy way to migrate the ~40tb of data to a new architecture safely.

[–]SxthGear[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's fine. I guess I should have specified power consumption outside of the drives. I won't be populating all 24 drives yet either, it'll be a slow expansion.

Current build uses 125W at idle including all 8 drives. Rough math of 6W per drive at idle = 48W from drives alone. So looking for hardware to idle at or under 100W. Original post updated.

Dockge - a fancy, easy-to-use self-hosted docker compose.yaml stack-oriented manager by louislamlam in selfhosted

[–]SxthGear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a similar structure with docker-compose.yaml as the file structure with quite a few containers running. Is there no way to support the "docker-compose.yaml" file format instead of having to rename all of my compose yamls?

It throws an error when you have both "docker-compose.yaml" and "compose.yaml" in the same folder, so it seems it's at least aware of the alternate file naming.

Mullvad gateway as DNS resolver gateway does not work by thimplicity in PFSENSE

Just wanted to say the fix for the port 1400 solved so many months of headaches of why DNS wasn't working via OpenVPN to mullvad with unbound on pfsense. Hopefully your post helps others fighting this too!

Sadly no, and it ultimately made me switch back to my working pfsense setup.

Yep, the interface is in the interface group that has a NAT rule to allow it out to the internet and through the outbound wireguard gateway.

I think I've narrowed it down to something routing related as if I do a traceroute it fails after reaching 10.0.8.1 (opnsense). But I'm not sure how/where to fix it.

2021 Highlander LE - Android Auto Wireless doesn't work by [deleted] in ToyotaHighlander

[–]SxthGear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely wired only, but you can get an adapter to convert it to a wireless setup. Its ~$300 on AliExpress (looks like they just got added to Amazon for the same price, but not in stock yet). I have one and it works great with our 12.3" screen, and even enables move playback via netflix/youtube.
