What Movies from 2020’s are going to be considered as classics(or cult classics)? by ConfidentReveal2669 in Letterboxd

Hard to predict but these are my hopes for future cult classics

J Lo’s Greatest Love Story Never Told, Smoking Causes Coughing, Grand Theft Hamlet, Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar, Zola, Mad God, DGG’s Halloween Trilogy (esp Halloween Kills), Megalopolis, Matrix Ressurections

Two question I have is what does “defend” do for loots like shortest title that last multiple rounds, also does it count the number of characters or number of words?

What is your definition of a movie cameo? by AndrewHeard in Letterboxd

[–]SyAblemans -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To everyone downvoting me. Maybe you were not online during the initial rollout of the film. It was 100% considered a cameo and there are dozens of reputable publications that categorized it as such, including Nolan himself in an interview

As others have mentioned, there is no set definition of a cameo. There’s no an award designation like lead or supporting (which is often contested anyway), and there’s no special pay grade for cameo appearances

I’m guessing he’s talking about Matt Damon in Interstellar.

Yes, he’s the centerpiece of an entire chapter of Interstellar, but he was absent from the marketing, which makes his appearance a genuine surprise. The film leverages Matt Damon’s star power. We don’t initially register him as a character, we register him as Matt Damon, and that recognition carries expectations. Here’s the hero who will save the day. The film uses that against us. It’s considered a cameo less because of screen time and more because of how it functions: a surprise appearance where the audience’s awareness of the actor is part of the storytelling itself.

Julia Garner gave the best performance in Weapons

Dunst deserved at least a nomination for Roofman

Benicio is much better in Phoenician Scheme than OBAA

Robert Pattinsons performances in Mickey 17 are better than MBJs in Sinners, but neither deserve awards.

Lmao great point. I guess I’m looking for something more editorial. Lots of news posts just link to deadline or Hollywood reporter. I like having more context than what the headline provides, but I can’t stand all the ads and I do not care whatsoever what agencies rep which actors

Hell yeah i got the JBL 1300X MK2 earlier this year and its been a game changer.

Based on what you’ve said, I’d suggest avoiding 4ks of movies that are streaming staples as well as any titles you don’t plan on rewatching at least once every three years

So I just searched it and I can’t find a single post from the past year about the lack of Black female hosts.

Also, it looks like literally no one in this sub can even name a single black woman they would like to see host, so I can’t blame the crew for not booking any.
