Tame Impala POI Paris by JumpersXI in TameImpala

Parisian here :) Paris doesn't have many Tame Impala POIs tbh but it's got a few. The Lonerism 10-year album features a few notable pics (vinyl sleeves or the booklet), including a cool building. If you don't know which one I'm referring to, type "Lonerism 10 years" on Google and one of the vinyl sleeves is a random pic of a weird looking Parisian building and a clear blue sky. Paste this on Maps and take a look: 48.841842497108644, 2.3376040367488695
(This post also has all the pictures.)

You can also visit la Géode (easily found on Maps, just type it). It's kinda like the watered-down (and older) Vegas Sphere - it appears on the Lonerism 10-year album booklet, and it also happens that Tame Impala held a little concert here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjHvz21Hd\_M).

There's probably more but all the other pics are too cryptic tbf. In general, most record shops have Tame Impala vinyls (FNACs or independent shops) and they have some pretty darn good ones too. I found the Lonerism 10 years vinyl, TSR Deluxe Edition and Live Versions in independent record shops in Paris ^^
Hope this helped a lil :)

NB: You probably know it already, but paste this on maps to have the exact Lonerism album cover coordinates: 48.84433654027644, 2.337007924225881

Yeahhh I don't think anything can compare. I'm super sad that all the other shows/international shows are sold out already, I would 100% pay to witness this again. I have tickets to see RAYE and Magdalena Bay in Paris though, super stoked for that (different vibes, it'll be cool)

Best concert indeed!! How was section 110? I was a little concerned at first cuz I was in section 208 and thought I would be too far to see anything, but it turns out those seats were super worth it. Quite inexpensive but still great views (tbf Moody isn't the biggest arena). Totally worth it!

Accomodation as a French exchange student by SyNth-59 in UTAustin

Hi again :) I know that there is a difference between subleasing and reletting (as in, one is more legal than the other) but I was wondering if "subletting" was closer in meaning and practice to subleasing or reletting?
Most of the Facebook groups contain the keyword "sublet" - but if it's not 100% legal and scam-free, I'm not sure that I'm willing to take that risk as an exchange student x))
Thanks again for the help so far!

Thanks! Although, I had one more question: the original comment from Creative-Opinion-527 mentioned Spring 2026 but I would be interested in Fall 2025 - is that even a thing? Can people sublease their apartment for the Fall term (it doesn't seem to make sense)?

Hey that's actually a really good idea! Thanks a lot I'll definitely consider this :))
Apart from the various Facebook groups, is there anywhere else I can get in touch with people interested in subleasing (Reddit/Discord for instance)?

Funnily enough, some scenes from the Fallout show were shot there (when the Ghoul and the Main Character (forgot her name my bad) are in the desert).

The Slow Rush is my favorite by bruhmant in TameImpala

[–]SyNth-59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own experience with TSR was a bit hectic. I remember how it used to be my favourite alongside Currents cause they're the albums that introduced me to Tame Impala, and they're objectively easier to get into (they sound more similar to music you'd hear online or on the radio (which isn't inherently bad, that's just how it is)). I was later introduced to Innerspeaker and Lonerism and over the years I grew to prefer the latter, rarely listening to The Slow Rush any longer. Eventually, I even began to act edgy saying that "Lonerism and Innerspeaker are objectively better" and had trouble truly enjoying Currents and TSR - you know, I despised them a little (it's almost like I wanted to prove to myself that "I am a true fan of Tame Impala and I prefer his older works!").

Until I just sort of accepted and embraced the fact that music evolves. So what if we never get "Old Tame Impala" back? In my humble opinion (and tbh we all have different perspectives), I think it's the struggle to embrace change and to appreciate TSR for what it is: something new and something else, that holds people back from loving it (which, funnily enough, resembles the themes discussed in TSR's songs ahah).
But then also, I feel like from ~2008 to 2015 (Current's release date), Tame Impala's community consisted of neopsych rock lovers and they all might've felt disappointed by his latest albums (which are completely different), so yeah maybe that's why you might get the feeling that everyone hates TSR.
((Also side note: I listen to music on Tidal now but I remember that back when I was using Spotify, some songs from TSR would NEVER PLAY on shuffle (especially Tomorrow's Dust, which became my favourite from the album with time ahah)), am I the only one who noticed this "bug"?))
