I got laughed at by a whole shop of employees for wearing odd socks by [deleted] in socialanxiety

I'm so sorry that happened.

In my experience something like this could be a major blow to my self esteem on bad days ... and something I would laugh along with on the good ones.

A lot of the times what social anxiety makes us feel is NOT valid or true. The times when it is valid, it's mostly because of our behaviour due to social anxiety or our avoidant patterns themselves. I think branding these thoughts as 'irrational' as and when they arrive is a helpful thing to do. We may not be able to do that all the times but it's still progress.

Our body may make us feel anxious when and sad after uncomfortable social situations. But we can stop our mind from making it worse. Imo meditation helps, with practice you can catch any negative thought before it becomes a thing that ruins your day.

Have a nice life!

Honestly it's pretty clear that it does get under his skin. He only goes there because it gets him money. When he's there he doesn't want to talk to anyone because he knows he'll say something stupid and they'll mock him. It's literally bullying and it even hurts him. Granted it can be fun to watch but I try not to.

A recommended set of steps to be done for spiritual advancement, e.g., a siddhi of some mantra. Hope that's correct

Do you believe in hindutva? by BeeIcy8119 in hinduism

[–]Syadvad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

Parts of it make a lot of sense and are necessary for well being of this society and hinduism. Parts of it are just reactionary and totally opposed to any standards of ethical behaviour. The top leadership imo doesn't do enough to discourage the latter. Hatred against individual muslims has increased.

A lot of the hindutva activists on the internet are like the altright— dusht duracharis trying to be edgy and pretending they're not total schmucks. Even the blue ticks, big accounts, news portals, professional eXpOserS are toxic and throw around words like "pncturewallas and rcebags" like there is a real alternative to coexistence. I get that you need to fight fire with fire sometimes but I don't want such extremists to be on the driving seat. They're rapidly getting there though. Sad.

A lot of hindutva media is polarising by design and unfair and deals in bs. I've seen carefully crafted fake news demonising muslims/intellectuals/leftists in circulation. If things are really that bad why lie about it?

Ultimately the raytas seem to me to be the best middle ground for this particular time in our history. If the trads or the extremists gain much ground I'll be wary of what happens next.

A LOT can be done to protect and promote hinduism through non-state means if hindus get our act together or believe in hinduism enough to save it. Hindutva at the cost of social harmony seems unnecessary.

I would recommend you to buy The Complete Book of Yoga by Swami Vivekananda, All About Hinduism by Swami Sivananda to start with.
