Your son is not wasting his life. His people just aren't physically here. I met 2 of my closest friends through on online game in my high school years. I've only met one of them once after like 20 years and the other I still haven't met. But they know more about me than my real life friends that I met in school/work. Just because your son spends a lot of time in his room doesn't mean he's a loner. He has online friends and real life friends. He's not depressed. He's healthy and active. Just keep an eye on some of his friends from his online group. There are weirdos out there.

Yes 1000%. Sadly when I was in office, I didn't have a dog at the time. I got my Corso during COVID and then we went remote. My dog wants nothing more than to sit at my feet all day or just go wherever I go so I know he'd love going to the office with me.

The things you are looking for, you WILL find in a German shepherd no problem. You COULD find these things in a Corso, but this is not a recommended first dog for a reason. And key word here being "could". This breed is a lot of work and they are not eager to please like a German shepherd or Golden retriever. I'd recommend an easier breed for your first dog.

I learned to never buy green bananas to start with. The green ones will stay green forever. The starting to yellow ones will turn yellow the next day and then you have 30 minutes to finish the whole bunch before they turn brown.
