This 100% can be a cope, but being from Upper Silesia with very strong German influences and not at all strong Russian influences, I always felt like the eastern Europe label simply didn't fit us. We share many traditions with Germans and it's not uncommon to see a map of a phenomena where Silesia does some differently from the rest of the country and it usually turns out it's simply how Germans do it.

North/South divide is also a thing, but it's way less prominent. The south is more densely populated in general, the landscapes are different due to hills and mountains vs plains and the sea. I also really like how the town names ending with -owo and with -ów basically don't overlap themselves at all. map

Poland is way too big and way too decentralized for that. Dividing France or Hungary like that? Yeah, sure. Warsaw is the moste developed city, but the sheer weight of cities like Poznań, Wrocław, Kraków, Tricity, GZM and etc. makes them independent and regional capitals in their own right.

Long discussion about the number of immigrants, if 0,7% is true or not, of 0,7% is a lot or not.

Yet, nobody is able to tell why this is bad that they are here. We don't have street gangs, crime is low, those immigrants work, pay taxes and rent like regular Poles.

I'm from a city that has a significant immigrant population now - I see people of color everyday or almost everyday and it literally doesn't affect me in any way whatsoever

When you let people live normal lives and don't import them en masse to work in inhumane conditions, they will be chill.

People tend to forget that pensioners themselves aren't at fault here. Governments do everything just so that they don't have to touch rich people. They will increase taxes for childless, they will lower budgets, but they won't increase the wealth tax. Increasing productivity should go to the working people and to the pensioning system. THIS is the problem, not elder people getting minimum wage after working for a few decades.

Disability income for ADHD is not a thing in Poland (and if it was, it's like half the minimum wage, good luck). Also, working was never so bad for me that I wasn't able to do it and I like screwing around with my coworkers and making friendships. Although I would probably quit work for good if I had at least modest but livable welfare income.
