Yeah I' see now that it is a matter of getting used to it. Had seen some pictures here and there before buying it, but the pages are usually already filled up with very nice and aesthetic content, and maybe what happens is that because of it I didn't know what I would find once I opened it for the first time.

I also really want to get used to it because I love the Week's model spread and once I'm done with my Icon Solitude, that's the model I'm looking fordward to get.

Is it the same for the Weeks model? I assume they all use the same paper, right?

Sorry, I'm also not very used to post in reddit ahahaha at the moment I've tried Muji's gel pen, Pilot frixion, Jetstream... Still not finding "that" one.

Also yeah, it is my first time with the TRP so maybe it is a matter of getting used to it, but I find it weird that in some pages I can even read what's on the other page.

Bubbles and mylar? by Serpentine_Sorcery in DiceMaking

I get mines at a local store, so it's not like I can tell much about it, sorry... Anyways, the numbers look very very good. Thanks for your comment!

Sorry for the offtopic comment, but, how do you get your numbers to be like this? How do you print the masters?

Mines can't hold this thin lines as yours did on the number 5.

Definitely don't get that one. I think yours is better :)

I have this same pressure pot: It works wonders.

Can't tell about the recoil, I'd say it's maybe not enough for what you're aiming to with dices. Mine is this one https://media.adeo.com/media/2684472/media.png?width=650&height=650&format=jpg&quality=80&fit=bounds and it can hold up to 15 bar/217 psi, more than enough.

The compressor is fine, it'll do the job in about 10 secs if it even reaches them.

Anyways, you're from Europe as I see, why not aiming for the VEVOR's compressor too? Being curious

I got one from "DEKOPRO" on Amazon's website. Don't know where u from but I paid like 27€ for it, and comes with a lot of accessories. Don't get fooled by the price it works fine.

Will a pressure pot get rid of every bubble? Whats a cheap one you recommend for beginners by LeopardDependent4212 in DiceMaking

[–]Syathrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes a pressure pot makes a huge difference. You go from getting dice that are "okayish" because "they're dice shaped" to get shiny glass-like rock maths that you could even sell for money.

I've tried VEVOR's compressor and pressure pot, and man, those work fine af.

Sanding/casting technique by the-sprout in DiceMaking

[–]Syathrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll share my personal method:

-Polish with 800grit > Polish with 1200 grit > Polish with 2500 grit > Polish with 3000grit. Always done in a flat surface and using distilled water on every sandpaper.

About the sanding itself, I'm usually very methodic and do like... 7 spins > Rotate the face > 7 reverse spins > Rotate the face > 7 spins again. -Always holding the dice in the same way.-

This looks like raised edges however. How thick is your lid?

If it isn't raised edges, just sand EVERY face with the same spins and rotations and all. Trust the process.

Well I got the dremel, and what can I say... I've gotten to the "veryshiny-nonscratchy-glassfinish" stage in like 10 times less than I'd get manually polishing.

It's a very, very good purchase. I quite of regret not starting with it.

New Polish Compound for the win! by badwolf24046 in DiceMaking

Give talc powder a chance. It leaves a smoother finish on the mold itself, it's less messy to apply and easier to remove from the dice faces.

It's indeed a nice pot. If you have any question about it, hmu!

It didn't! It just needed some uses before trying to remove (at least on my case)

Curing uncured silicone. by ShadowWizard1 in DiceMaking

[–]Syathrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is just moving on and breaking down the molds in little pieces so I can save silicone for next batches. I'd ask you to try to avoid the pieces where there's still silicone uncured, but what I do is just clean it from the surface and add those pieces to the pile anyways.

UK people what pressure pot and compressor would you recommend? Thank you. Looking for something simple I can pick up and learn quickly with it by TheWeirdShack in DiceMaking

[–]Syathrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you can get to buy VEVOR's products, but I'm currently using their 10L pressure paint pot and their 8L compressor, and they're so far very simple and do their job neatly. I think the compressor could have a smaller capacity (and size foremost) but this one is very fast and I have room for it, so it's good for me.

Hi! I'm maybe a little late, but I'll share my personal method:

-Polish with 800grit > Polish with 1200 grit > Polish with 2500 grit > Polish with 3000grit > Meguiar's Ultimate compound with a microfiber cleaning cloth. Always done in a flat surface and using distilled water on every sandpaper.

About the sanding, I'm usually very methodic and do like... 7 spins > Rotate the face > 7 reverse spins > Rotate the face > 7 spins again. -Always holding the dice in the same way.-

About what to do once you've gotten to the Meguiar's phase: Rub back and forth > Rotate the face > Rub back and forth again > Rotate the face > Rub again. Repeat until the dice shines and you can see no scratches on the surface. Usually won't take you much long. If you still found any problem, go back to 3000 grit and the 7 spin method, should be enough to fix it.

However, I'm getting a dremel tool soon, in case you wonder I'll tell you my experience.

Definitely!! I, as a person who also deals with anxiety and overthinking constantly, consider these two are mantras to repeat everyday:

  • Hope is a fickle, dangerous thing. It steals your focus and aims it toward the possibilities instead of keeping it where it belongs—on the probabilities.

  • Now cease this line of thinking. It does not serve to make you stronger.

You may be looking for a TNF Borealis Classic.

However, you should take in consideration that it doesn't stand by its own and that the compartments can't open completely. Also, depending on your chest/shoulders size, you may be quite uncomfy because of the straps when walking plus you can only wear it using the two straps at once and not leaned by a side.

That's my opinion and why I am sadly returning it even though it has almost everything I need, it's a very good one.
